On April 15, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Oxnard Police Department communications center received a call of a shooting victim in a vehicle at the intersection of Yucca St and “F” St. Oxnard Police Officers responded to the area and located a 17-year-old male Oxnard resident suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Officers located evidence of the shooting in the 4200 block of South “G” St.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation initially. At 2:20 P.M., the Oxnard Police Department was notified the victim had succumbed to his injuries. The Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. A motive for the crime has yet to be established. The City of Oxnard offers a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the City.
