On December 8, 2024, at approximately 8:25 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian near the intersection of Wooley Road and Donlon Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located a male subject lying in the roadway of Wooley Road, east of Donlon Avenue. EMS rendered medical aid to the pedestrian and transported him to the Ventura County Medical Center. He is currently listed in critical condition. Traffic Investigators responded to take over the investigation.
Preliminary investigation revealed two vehicles, including a 2017 Dodge Journey, were traveling eastbound Wooley Road, east of Oxnard Boulevard. The pedestrian was crossing Wooley Road along a portion of the roadway not intended for pedestrian use. The first vehicle stopped to avoid colliding with the pedestrian. The Dodge Journey slowed, but was unable to stop in time to avoid the pedestrian. The Dodge Journey struck the pedestrian. Both vehicles immediately stopped and remained on scene. Both drivers cooperated with the investigation. It does not appear speed or impairment were factors in this collision; however, the investigation is ongoing.
