On January 27, 2018, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Santa Lucia Avenue and Alpine Street. Officers were responding to reports of a vehicle in the area driving erratically.
Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle who was identified as a seventeen year old minor and an identified Oxnard gang member. Officers noted objective symptomology consistent with alcohol use. Officers determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle whereupon he was arrested. During an inventory search of the vehicle, Officers located a sawed off shotgun on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat. Additional gun related charges were added.
