SUBJECT: Foot Patrol Regarding Gang Activity Results in Firearm Arrest

On February 27, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a foot patrol in the 2600 blk. of El Dorado Ave. regarding complaints of gang activity. During the foot patrol officers located documented criminal street gang members drinking alcoholic beverages in public.
One of the subjects, Moises Garcia, attempted to leave but was detained by the officers. During Garcia’s detention officers discovered that Garcia was in possession of a loaded, unregistered handgun. Garcia was arrested for the violation, and the remaining subjects were cited for drinking in public.
