SUSPECT: Salvador Aguilar, 19-year-old Oxnard resident

On October 26, 2024, at about 11:35 p.m., Oxnard police officers were dispatched to a loud music call in the 3500 block of South. B Street. Upon arrival, officers observed several subjects outside the front of the residence as officers overheard a single gunshot. Officers observed the subject with the gun fleeing the area. Several officers set up a containment around the residence as the suspect, 19-year-old Salvador Aguilar, fled toward A Street. The subject was taken into custody without incident. No shooting victims were located. Officers discovered a 9mm loaded handgun in the immediate area where Aguilar was arrested. Aguilar was identified as the shooter and was arrested for several firearms violations that included being a prohibited person in possession of a loaded handgun.
