SUBJECT: Deceased Male Found at Oxnard Beach Ruled a Suicide
LOCATION: Mandalay Beach Rd @ Sunset Ln, Oxnard

On December 4, 2024 at about 9:00 A.M., a citizen contacted the Oxnard Police Department’s Communication center to report they located an unresponsive male in the dunes area near the intersection of Mandalay Beach Rd and Sunset Lane. Oxnard Fire Department responded along with Oxnard Police Officers to the scene. They located 39-year-old Oxnard resident, Jeppy Caliboso, suffering from several knife wounds. Fire Department personnel pronounced Mr. Caliboso deceased at the scene. A knife was located at the scene as well, and there did not appear to be any signs of a struggle.
Detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit responded to conduct the investigation. Based on the initial investigation, Mr. Caliboso’s injuries appeared to be self-inflicted.
On December 5, 2024, a medical examination of Mr. Caliboso was conducted by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. Based on their findings, they determined Mr. Caliboso’s death to be a suicide.
