VICTIM:         Dave Pichel (01/26/1959)

SUSPECTS:  Male juvenile, 15 years old

Yesterday Oxnard Police officers were dispatched to a check the wellbeing call in the 2500 Block of South C Street. Upon arrival, the victim was located and suffered significant injuries to the head and face area. The victim, later identified as Dave Pichel (01/26/1959), was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit assumed responsibility of the investigation. Throughout the day Major Crimes investigators were assisted by multiple units within the police department and were eventually able to identify both suspects. Late last night, both suspects were located and taken into custody. The suspects, a 14-year-old male and 15-year-old male, were arrested for California Penal Code Section 187, Murder, and taken to the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center.

The City of Oxnard offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides committed within the City.
