DETAILS:
On 7-12-13, at 1600 hours, members of the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force observed Juan Rodriguez, a 27-year old Oxnard resident; in the 3900 block of South “A” Street. Rodriguez was wanted for an outstanding felony possession of narcotics warrant.
Officers from the Oxnard Police Department attempted to stop Rodriguez in a vehicle in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and “N” Street. Rodriguez fled on foot into residential backyards. Officers were able to contain Rodriguez in the 1100 block of Spruce Street.
Reports from residents were received that Rodriguez was possibly in possession of a handgun. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Helicopter responded to assist with the search. Rodriguez was later located while hiding in the rear yard of a residence.
Rodriguez was arrested for his outstanding warrant and a misdemeanor charge of resisting/delaying an officer.
