SUBJECT: Man Shot. Dies in Oxnard
LOCATION: 4300 Block of Frost Drive, Oxnard
VICTIM: Rodrigo Carranza 27-Year-Old Male, Oxnard Resident

On November 5, 2023, at approximately 2:03 AM, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 4300 block of Frost Drive. Officers and EMS personnel arrived on scene and located a 27-year-old male later identified as Rodrigo Carranza suffering from a gunshot wound. Carranza was immediately transported to the Ventura County Medical Center and was listed in grave condition.
The Oxnard Police Department was later contacted by the Ventura County Medical Center advising Carranza had succumbed to his injuries.
The Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
Investigators are encouraging anyone who has any information, may have heard or seen anything to contact Detective Catherine Moreira (805) 385-7645. The City of Oxnard offers a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the City.
