On September 6th, at approximately 5:06 p.m., the Oxnard Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of the south alley of Hill Street. The driver was identified as Angel Cardona, a documented member of an Oxnard based criminal street gang. Cardona is currently on CDC parole with search terms for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. The front passenger was identified as Tiana Sandhu.
During the search of the vehicle and of their persons, officers located a loaded stolen semi-automatic handgun. Cardona and Sandhu were arrested for gun related charges. When Cardona was transported to the Oxnard Police Department, he attempted to smuggle narcotics inside the jail. Cardona and Sadhu were booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
