SUSPECT: Jose Herrera, 38-year-old Oxnard resident

On November 10, 2024, at about 1:50 a.m., Oxnard police officers were dispatched to a call of a Brandishing of a Firearm in the 600 block of W. Gonzales Road. Upon arrival, Officers were advised that the suspects were challenging the victims to fight and possibly brandished a firearm and fled the area prior to Officers arriving. Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 400 Block of Ivywood Drive. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, Jose Herrera 11/25/85, and four juvenile passengers. Herrera and the four juveniles were removed from the vehicle. Officers located a loaded firearm and 75 rounds of ammunition in the vehicle. Herrera was identified as the person in possession of the firearm and was arrested for several firearms violations and Child Endangerment.
