En abril 20, 2020, en torno 10:00 PM, Oficiales de la Policía de Oxnard respondieron a la 400 block of Cuesta Del Mar reference reports of a subject brandishing a handgun at a female and her two small children. The female reported that the subject also yelled gang slogans as he threatened her and her children. The subject entered a grey sedan that was occupied by several other male subjects and fled the area.
Officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (unidad de pandillas) were in the area of Berkshire Place and Ivan Drive when they noticed a vehicle matching the same description provided by the female victim. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and a passenger, Flavio banda, fled on foot. Gasca was captured after a foot chase and found to be in possession of a loaded revolver.
Oscar Eugenio and Jesse Chairez remained in the vehicle and were contacted by assisting officers.
All three suspects are documented members of an Oxnard-based criminal street gang and officers were able to determine their involvement in the brandishing.
Gasca and Eugenio were both charged with the brandishing of a firearm and street terrorism (realce de pandillas). Gasca was also charged with numerous felony weapons violations. Chairez was arrested for providing a false name and narcotic violations.
