En mayo 14, 2017, en alrededor 3:07 a.m., Officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the area of the 1200 block of Juneberry Place regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle that had collided into a residence. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a grey Mitsubishi SUV was northbound on Lantana Street when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and drove into a residence on Juneberry Place. The vehicle struck a bedroom which was occupied by three female juveniles. One of the juveniles sustained minor injuries. The driver of the SUV fled the scene on foot. An alert citizen followed the driver and alerted police to his location. The driver was contacted and the investigation is continuing.

Alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a factor in the collision.
