El Departamento de Policía de Oxnard ha sido galardonado con una $150,000 subvención de la Oficina de Seguridad Vial de California (OTS) for a year-long program aimed at preventing deaths and injuries on our roadways through special enforcement and public awareness efforts. The grant received by the Oxnard Police Department will aid in the city’s ongoing effort to improve traffic safety and the quality of life.  The Oxnard Police Department will use the funding as part of an on-going commitment to keep our roadways safe through both enforcement and education.

The grant will assist in efforts to deal with traffic safety problems and to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in traffic collisions. While traffic deaths from all causes declined by nearly 39 por ciento entre 2006 y 2010 en California, state and federal officials anticipate that figures will show a slight rise in 2011. DUI deaths remain the largest sector, at nearly 30 percent of traffic fatalities. Recent trends show increases in two new categories – conducción distraída y conducir la influencia de drogas.

DETALLES:DUI detenciones Up & Zero DUI Fatalities

There were no DUI deaths reported over the first weekend, but there were two fatal collisions in the city of Oxnard. Extra DUI patrols are planned for next weekend in the cities of Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, and C.S.U.C.I. DUI Checkpoints are also planned in the City of Ventura, Ojai and the CHP will host one in Oxnard.
 
All regularly scheduled traffic and patrol officers will focus efforts at stopping and arresting DUI drivers during their normal shifts. Multiple DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoints, Multi Agency DUI Task Force operations and local Roving DUI patrols are all part of this region-wide crackdown during the 19 Campaña de día de fiesta de invierno.

Heads Up –violators face jail time, loss of driver license, and steep financial consequences such as higher insurance rates, attorney fees, costos judiciales, lost time at work, and the potential loss of job.

(OXNARD, California) Veintinueve niños merecedores y necesitados (siglos 6 a 12) – uno de cada uno de Oxnard del 29 Escuelas primarias de – fueron invitados a la 2^ndHeroes anuales & Helpers event at Target at the Collection at RiverPark.
 
The kids were treated to breakfast goodies, juice and coffee donated by Panera Bread, a coloring station, pintura de la cara, the DRAGG car, balloons, a Christmas tree, and a visit and photos with Santa & Sra.. It was awesome to see how so many of the children shopped first for gifts for their siblings and parents before they even thought of selecting something for themselves. Before leaving, the little shoppers had their gifts wrapped by the Crime Analysis Unit and the Explorers and they received a goody bag from First California Bank and framed Santa photos as they departed the store.

En 12-8-12, en 0155 horas, officers were dispatched to Cooper Road at Hayes Avenue re: un robo de auto que acaba de ocurrir. Un gris ’07 Dodge Magnum fue tomada por tres de HM 20 a 30 año. Uno estaba en posesión de un arma de fuego negro. Un segundo sospechoso fue descrito como un cabeza rapada. La víctima fue obligada a dar a los sospechosos de su dinero en efectivo y un teléfono celular.

Dos sospechosos huyeron en el Dodge Magnum, mientras que el tercero huyó a pie de la avenida de Grant.

La víctima no resultó herido. Una investigación continúa.

DETALLES: En diciembre 7, 2012 en alrededor 12:36 PM officials were notified via an on-line posting that there was a possible weapon on campus at Hueneme High School. As a precaution, the school was locked down with school employees and officers from the Oxnard Police Department. Durante la investigación, students were interviewed, and it was learned that the witness, a student, did not actually observe a weapon. At 3:15 PM officials began an orderly dismissal of the student body, which ended at 3:50 PM. Nadie resultó herido como resultado de este incidente.

En 12/09/2012, en aproximadamente 1915 horas, victim Lopez responded to the Oxnard Police Department to report a robbery that occurred at Marina West Park. Lopez advised that he is a City of Oxnard, Parks and Recreation employee and had just locked the bathrooms to the park when he was confronted and surrounded by approximately 10 temas, 8 de ellos tenían pañuelos que cubren la parte inferior de la cara. (Oxnard, California) El Departamento de Policía de Oxnard es la liberación de los nombres de los oficiales que respondieron a la 300 bloque de South H Street en agosto 14^ª,2012 en referencia a un hombre con un arma. Durante el incidente, Michael Mahoney pointed a gun at the officers and was shot. Mahoney later died from his wounds.
