(Oxnard, California) Hoy en alrededor 8:59 a.m., Oxnard PD officers received a call of shots being fired into an apartment in the 200 bloque de Vineyard Avenue West. When officers arrived they located an apartment that had several bullet holes through the front door. Officers checked the residence but nobody was home. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area in an effort to locate the suspect.
Durante el curso de la investigación, investigators with the OPD violent crimes unit (VCU) were able to identify the suspect who fired into the apartment as Robert Carnes 9/7/93. Members of the OPD special enforcement unit (SU) were able to locate Carnes leaving his residence which is located in the 2400 block of Hill Rose Place. Officers took Carnes into custody without incident. Carnes was in possession of a loaded firearm. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail for various weapons violations and for shooting into an inhabited dwelling.
