DETALLES: En 3/20/14 en aproximadamente 1053 horas, Oxnard police officers responded to a robbery that just occurred to the Bank of the West, situado en 371 West Esplanade Drive. While officers were responding to the scene, information was obtained from witnesses that the suspect had fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no weapons used and nobody was injured during the commission of the crime.

Officers and detectives quickly arrived on scene and searched the area for the robbery suspect. Several witnesses provided valuable information to assist officers and detectives with the investigation. Investigators were able to obtain photographic and video evidence from the bank and surrounding businesses. A suspect was then identified and that information was broadcasted to patrol officers searching the area.

A patrol officer searching the 100 block of Esplanade Drive located a person that matched the physical description of the robbery suspect. That person was later identified as 44 year old transient Donald Orin Fulton. Based on video and photographic evidence, as well as eye witness identification, Fulton was arrested for bank robbery. Fulton was also in possession of evidence directly linking him to the robbery.

En 3-29-14, en alrededor 9:28 PM, officers and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of 5th Street and “K” Street regarding an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a female, was traveling southbound on”K” Street approaching 5th Street. The Dodge tow truck was traveling westbound on 5th Street. For an unknown reason, the Jeep failed to stop for the red traffic signal, entered the intersection and into the path of the Dodge tow truck, driven by Joseph Ramirez. The tow truck was not towing another vehicle at the time of the collision.

The impact of the collision caused fatal injuries to the female driver of the Jeep and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Driver Ramirez sustained minor injuries and was transproted to St. John’s Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. Both Ramirez and the female were the only occupants in the vehicles.

DETALLES:

En 4-8-14, en 0728 horas, los oficiales respondieron a la 1900 Block of Patterson Road re: a robbery. A male, 35 año, bald or shaved head, walked into a 7-11 Convenience Store, blandió un cuchillo, and demanded money from the clerk. When a second clerk came out of a storeroom, el sospechoso huyó a pie. The clerks immediately called 911.

Officers were on the scene within minutes and located the suspect, identified as Omar Mojica, 28 año, Residente de Port Hueneme, taking him into custody without incident.

There were no injuries and no property was taken.

DETALLES: En 4/18/14, en alrededor 2015 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit were working enhanced uniform enforcement in the 1300 block of Gonzales Road, in response to the recent violent gang activity in the area. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle observed circling the area. Los ocupantes del vehículo, Michael Silerio and Patrick Kenton, were contacted and subsequently found to be in possession of a .45 arma de fuego cal, a 9mm handgun, and a large amount of narcotics. Both Silerio and Kenton are previously convicted felons and prohibited from possessing a firearm. Silerio and Kenton were arrested for several narcotics and firearms related charges.

En 0205 horas en 4/19/14, Oxnard Police Officers responded reference a domestic battery that had just occurred in the 1400 block of Lyonia Lane. Officers learned that the parties involved were now at a residence in the 1400 block of Halesia Lane. Officers heard a female crying inside, but the occupants refused to answer the front door. Officers forced the front door open to check the well-being of the female. El sospechoso, Jesus Pena, was located inside the residence. Officers determined that an altercation had occurred and the victim was battered. Pena was arrested for domestic violence and violating his Post Release Offender status.

En 5/6/14, en aproximadamente 1805 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a robbery involving a firearm at the Colonia Gym, 195 N. Avenida Marquita.

The victims told officers that he was confronted by two male suspects, both in their early 20’s and wearing dark clothing, as the victim sat in the area. One of the suspects, later identified as Delacruz, displayed a black handgun, and both suspects removed the victim’s property, which included a cellphone, cartera, and headphones. The suspects fled the area.

As officers were investigating, they observed the suspects in the area, along with two other females. Officers ultimately detained one of the male subjects, and one female subject. Delacruz was identified as the suspect who committed the robbery and was arrested. Other charges included disobeying a court order (violating the gang injunction), and resisting/delaying officers in the course of their duties. The female was found to be in possession of the victim’s property and was arrested for being in possession of stolen property. The second male suspect was not located. The handgun was not located. No one was injured during the robbery.

En 1652 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were provided information from a witness that a male subject, later identified as Anthony Martinez, 24 años de Oxnard, was in the public restroom at Marina West Park and was in possession of a handgun. The witness advised that the Martinez was not threatening anyone in the park. Cuando llegaron los agentes, Martinez ran and hid inside of a residence in the 2200 block of Miramar Walk. Officers learned that Martinez did not live at the residence which was occupied by a male homeowner and his juvenile daughter. Officers surrounded the house and took Martinez into custody as he attempted to flee out the back door. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate a handgun.

Martinez was arrested for trespassing, violation of probation, and for obstructing or delaying a peace officer in the performance of his/her duties. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail.

En 0355 horas, los oficiales respondieron a la 1600 Block of North “C” Street regarding residents calling for a subject ringing doorbells to homes and refusing to leave. Earlier calls had been received regarding a suspicious subject casing for burlgary in the same area.

Officers located Reyes Cardona, a 32-year old Oxnard resident, at the front door of a residence near Carriage Square and “C” Calle. Cardona was wearing all black clothing, was carrying two flashlights, and had a screwdriver in his possession. Cardona is a post release offender (PRO) and was arrested for a PRO “flash incarceration.”

En la fecha y hora anterior, Oxnard Police officers responded to Toppers Pizza at 2100 Saviers Road regarding an attempt robbery that had just occurred. El sospechoso entró en el negocio, waited in line for a short time, and then passed a note to the cashier. The manager was alerted because of the suspect’s appearance and also observed a gun in the suspect’s waistband. The manager activated the robbery alarm, alerted his employees to the danger, and the suspect fled before getting any cash. The suspect was last seen in a small white compact vehicle southbound on San Marino from Iris.
