DETALLES:En 6-26-15 en alrededor 5:17 P.M. a subject identified as David Garcia attempted to steal 4 different occupied vehicles while near the 24 Hour Fitness business at “The Collection” stores in Oxnard. One of the occupied vehicles Garcia tried to enter was driven by an on-duty Oxnard Police detective who had been driving on River Park Blvd.
Garcia accosted a driver stopped in the parking lot of the business and was violently trying to pull the man from his vehicle when detective Pinkstaff intervened. Garcia tried to flee the area on foot, but the detective was able to physically detain Garcia until other officers arrived to assist. Garcia is being charged with four counts of attempted carjacking (215 P.C.). None of the victims suffered any physical injuries as a result of the crimes.
If any other motorists were confronted by a suspect near River Park and Town Center Drive on this date, please contact Sgt. Alex Arnett at (805) 486-6211 o por correo electrónico: alex.arnett @ oxnardpd.org
