The Independence Day Weekend Anti-DUI crackdown is reporting DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 14 Despliegues de DUI en el Condado de Ventura. Desde 12:01 AM Thursday July 3rd, through Midnight Friday July 4ª, funcionarios que representan 14 Ventura County law enforcement agencies have arrested 16 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. DUI arrest data collection will continue through midnight Sunday July 6ª. Law Enforcement officials are continuing DUI efforts throughout the county. For Saturday July 5th, extra DUI saturation patrols will be deployed in the cities of Oxnard, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks.
A multi-agency DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint was deployed in the City of Oxnard on July 3rd entre 6:00 p.m. y la medianoche. It was held in the southbound lanes of Rose Avenue just south of Gonzales Road. During the six hour operation, 1,354 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 1,081 of those drivers were screened for impairment and for valid driver’s licenses. Sobriety exercises were administered to four drivers of which two were arrested, one for alcohol intoxication and the other for drug impairment. Two drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license and 15 were cited for being unlicensed. Un adicional 17 citations were issued to drivers for other various violations.
