DETALLES:

En marzo de 24^ª en alrededor 7:20 P.M. officers and EMS personnel responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, in the north alley of the 1200 bloque de West Hill Street. A la llegada, officers found that the driver of the pick-up was being detained by witnesses. Officers were also informed that a pedestrian was injured in the alley with a broken leg.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Ceja was driving his 06 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound in the north alley of Hill Street. Witnesses stated they observed Ceja intentionally collide into the victim and flee eastbound through the alley. sin embargo, Ceja’s vehicle became inoperable due to the collision. Interviews with Ceja discovered that he and the victim were in a physical fight and Ceja drove his vehicle hitting the victim. The victim was admitted to Ventura County Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition. Officers were unable to obtain a statement from the victim due to his medical condition. Ceja was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, other than a firearm, and felony DUI.

DETALLES:
Entre 2006 y 2012, the City of Oxnard had five homicides that investigators believe were committed by members of the Lemonwood Chiques gang. In August of 2012, the Oxnard Police Department formed a special task force to solve these homicides. As a result of the task force’s extensive investigation, the department arrested 18 year old Cristian Santos for the October 12, 2011 homicide of Sergio Arroyo. Arroyo was subsequently convicted for this homicide.

En enero 17, 2009 en aproximadamente 8 PM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a fight with shots fired in the 2700 block of El Dorado Ave. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located two victims who had sustained stab wounds. A third victim showed up at the hospital an hour after the incident with a minor stab wound. La 28 year old homicide victim, later identified as Alfredo Vargas, underwent emergency surgery and died at approximately 2:30 am on Sunday.

The task force has continued to work on the Alfredo Vargas homicide as well as other open homicides involving Lemonwood Chiques gang members. En marzo de 29, 2013, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filed charges on Jonathan Gallegos in connection with his role in this homicide. These charges include murder and committing the murder for the benefit of a criminal street gang, the Lemonwood Chiques.

There continues to be several outstanding suspects in the Alfredo Vargas homicide as well as the other homicides involving the Lemonwood Chiques gang members. Arrests in the near future for these homicides are highly likely. These investigations are the result of countless investigative hours and a cooperative effort involving multiple local law enforcement agencies. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office all played key roles in these successful investigations.

ACTUALIZACIÓN: Sr.. Gonzalez was located a short time ago in the downtown area of Oxnard. He did not appear to be harmed. A concerned citizen who heard a broadcast regarding Mr. Gonzalez from a local radio station saw him and called the Police Department. Thanks to all who were keeping an eye out for Mr. González!

The Oxnard Police Department is currently attempting to locate 88 year-old Leonardo Gonzalez. Sr.. Gonzalez was visiting a residence in the 1200 Block of Robert Avenue and unexpectedly left at about 8:45Horas de esta mañana. He is described as a Hispanic male adult, 5’05”, 160 libras, with a grey mustache, wearing a red sweatshirt and grey pants. Sr.. Gonzalez suffers from mental health conditions. He may be walking with the assistance of a cane.

Sr.. Gonzalez is not from the immediate area; therefore, we are not aware of any specific areas he may frequent. We do not have a picture of Mr. Gonzalez at this time.

En 5/4/13 en aproximadamente 0730 horas, oficiales fueron enviados a la 600 block of South “D” Street to check the well-being of a two people in a vehicle. When officers arrived they located a female in her fifties and a male in late thirties. Both subjects had suffered a gunshot wound and were unresponsive. Both subjects were pronounced dead by emergency responders.

En julio 9, 2013 en aproximadamente 2:50 P.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department initiated a traffic stop on the 400 block of Ocotlan Way.
During the stop the driver, Juan Ayala, fled on foot and discarded a loaded firearm. Officers gave chase and set up a perimeter.
With the assistance of the Special Enforcement Unit and the helicopter from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Ayala was located and was
taken into custody without incident. The firearm was recovered and found to be stolen.

While searching the vehicle officers found varying quantities of marijuana, metanfetamina, cocaína, and heroin.

Passengers arrested were Ashley Lopez (under the influence of drugs) and Arthur Chavez (outstanding warrants).

Officers learned that Osbaldo Ayala Marinez, Jr, a 29-year old Oxnard resident had left his residence at 1600 hours and has not been seen or heard from since. Family members are concerned.

Marinez was last seen wearing a grey shirt, green and white striped shorts, and grey shoes. He was carrying a skateboard. Marinez reportedly frequents parks in South Oxnard and Port Hueneme. He also frequents South Oxnard and Port Hueneme beaches.

En 7/13/13 en alrededor 3:00 AM, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired at a residence in the 3300 block of Jackson Street. When Officers arrived they contacted several occupants inside the residence. One of the occupants had apparently been struck in the head by some type of object and required medical attention for a minor laceration he sustained. This victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Durante la investigación, Officers learned that two males had entered the home through the front door and as they attempted to enter one of the bedrooms the two males were confronted by one of the female victim’s. One of the two male suspects was armed with a handgun and brandished it at the female. The male victim attempted to intervene and he was struck on the head by an unknown object. The two male suspects fled the residence and as they fled the male victim gave chase. As the two suspects ran out, one of them fired multiple gunshots into the residence striking a bedroom window. Fortunately the occupant of that bedroom was not home at the time. Nothing was taken during the incident and it is still unclear as to what the suspects’ motive was.

En 2016 horas, officers responded to St. John’s Regional Medical Center to investigate a stabbing.

Genaro Cortez, un residente de Oxnard de 27 años, advised that at 1930 hours he was walking in the alley of the 900 Bloque de Cooper Road. A male, early 20’s, wearing a white shirt and black pants, walked by him. Repentinamente, this subject grabbed the victim from behind. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed. It is unknown if the suspect also intended to rob the victim.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck and back. Cortez’ wounds are not life-threatening.

Officers learned an unknown male armed with a handgun entered the business and robbed the store at gunpoint. The unknown male fled the store with an unknown amount of cash.
