En noviembre 24, 2014, en aproximadamente 5:24 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a possible stabbing victim in the 500 bloque de Cooper carretera. Emergency Medical Personnel attended to the victim for several minutes but he ultimately died as a result of his injuries.

The victim was a 27-year old male who was an Oxnard resident. His name is being withheld until his family is notified. This is Oxnard’s eighth homicide of the year. El lunes, Enero 19, 2015, en alrededor 1030 p.m. officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Dodge Road in reference to a non-injury traffic collision.

En la escena, officers found that a BMW 325i, driven by Carlos Cisneros, was traveling northbound on Dodge Road and turning westbound onto Pleasant Valley Road when it collided with an Edison utility pole. The vehicle sustained extensive damage. The Edison utility pole sustained moderate damage.

Cisneros fled the scene of the collision and was apprehended at his residence nearby. Cisneros was arrested on suspicion of DUI as his blood alcohol level was found to be over the legal limit of .08. Cisneros was also charged with misdemeanor hit and run. He was booked into the Oxnard Police Department Jail. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

The Oxnard Police Department wants to remind everyone to report drunk drivers by calling 911.

DETALLES: El jueves, Enero 22, 2015, en alrededor 6:30 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of ‘J’ Street and Juniper Street in reference to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

When officers arrived at the collision scene, they found an unconscious male, identified as Laroy Magana, tumbado en la calzada. Soon after medical personnel arrived, Magana was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Pedestrian Magana was crossing ‘J’ Street near the intersection of Juniper Street with a shopping cart. El vehículo, a blue 1978 Chevrolet Custom 10 pick-up truck, driven by Quirino Martinez Miranda, was traveling southbound on ‘J’ Street when it collided with Magana.

Excessive speed and alcohol or drug intoxication were not factors in this collision.

DETALLES:En febrero 28, 2015, en aproximadamente 9:07 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a shooting victim call in the 100 block of Eliza Court. A la llegada, officers located two shooting victims at the scene. One subject was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he is in serious but stable condition. The second subject was located near the front door of an unrelated residence whereby he was pronounced dead by paramedics. It appears that the victim died from an apparent gunshot wound. Both victim names are being withheld pending notification to a next of kin.

Preliminary investigation indicates the two victims were hanging out with two additional subjects in the 100 block of Eliza Court. They were approached by two Hispanic males on foot, which opened fire on the group. Witnesses recall hearing multiple gunshots with the suspects running westbound towards Dolores Court. The motive is unknown at this time but is believed this may be a gang related incident. Detectives are also attempting to determine if this incident was related to an earlier shooting today in the 700 block Berkshire.

En 3-29-15 en 10:58 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the area of the 2000 block of North Oxnard Boulevard in reference to a resident report of subjects in a vehicle acting suspicious and possibly using narcotics.

Officers arrived on scene and immediately located the vehicle. During the course of the investigation and subsequent pat down search, officers located a loaded firearm on the driver of the vehicle, Martin Sandoval, a 29-year old Oxnard resident. Sandoval was arrested without incident.

Officers learned the passenger in the vehicle, Emmanuel Delgado, 24-residente de Oxnard años de edad, fue un delincuente posterior a la liberación (PRO). En abril 25, 2015 en 10:37 a.m. Departamento de Policía de Oxnard respondieron a la 400 bloque de W. Juniper Street to investigate the report of a fight. Upon arrival officers learned that Luis Gomez had thrown two bricks at a passing motorist who then confronted Gomez. Gomez was arrested for the charges of throwing an object at a moving vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon. He was also arrested for an assault that occurred in the same area last Sunday, Abril 19, 2015. Gomez was booked at County Jail.

El jueves, Mayo 7, 2015, en alrededor 5:25 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of Rice Avenue and Camino del Sol in reference to an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles, one being a California Highway Patrol vehicle.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the marked patrol vehicle, driven by CHP Officer Kenneth Lagree III, was traveling southbound on Rice Avenue with activated lights and siren while responding to an emergency call for service. When Officer Lagree reached the red signal light at the intersection of Camino del Sol, he stopped the patrol vehicle. As he slowly proceeded through the intersection, a white Chevrolet Traverse SUV, driven by Maria De la Luz, entered the intersection traveling eastbound and the two vehicles collided. The force of the impact caused the airbags in both vehicles to be deployed. The collision was captured on the patrol vehicle’s forward facing camera system.

Driver De la Luz was transported to Saint John’s Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Her passenger, Tarrant Ragis, also sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from the scene. Officer Lagree was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

En mayo 16 en 7:50 AM the Oxnard Police Department received a report of a suspicious object to the front of Hueneme High School. Officers responded and based upon their observations, a portion of the school was closed off. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad was requested and responded. Bomb technicians utilized their robots to examine the object and found it to be a harmless electronic device which appeared to have been discarded.

Some activities were in progress at Hueneme High School and were minimally affected by the incident.

DETALLES(OXNARD, CALIF) En mayo 23^rd 2015, en alrededor 9:00 a.m., patrol officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call for service at a residence in the 200 block of Bolero Lane in the City of Oxnard.

Durante un registro de la residencia, several pounds of marijuana along with cans of butane, evidence of a concentrated cannabis manufacturing lab (commonly referred to as Butane Honey Oil or BHO lab), two shotguns and evidence of selling marijuana were located.

El sospechoso, Stephen Moreno, was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail for suspicion of manufacturing concentrated cannabis, possession for sales of marijuana, and maintaining a place for drug use/sales.

The community is reminded that BHO labs are inherently dangers. The chemical process required in such manufacturing processes are extremely flammable and several explosions have occurred in California as a result of improper care.
