DETALLES:

En 7/13/13 en alrededor 3:00 AM, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired at a residence in the 3300 block of Jackson Street. When Officers arrived they contacted several occupants inside the residence. One of the occupants had apparently been struck in the head by some type of object and required medical attention for a minor laceration he sustained. This victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Durante la investigación, Officers learned that two males had entered the home through the front door and as they attempted to enter one of the bedrooms the two males were confronted by one of the female victim’s. One of the two male suspects was armed with a handgun and brandished it at the female. The male victim attempted to intervene and he was struck on the head by an unknown object. The two male suspects fled the residence and as they fled the male victim gave chase. As the two suspects ran out, one of them fired multiple gunshots into the residence striking a bedroom window. Fortunately the occupant of that bedroom was not home at the time. Nothing was taken during the incident and it is still unclear as to what the suspects’ motive was.

En 2016 horas, officers responded to St. John’s Regional Medical Center to investigate a stabbing.

Genaro Cortez, un residente de Oxnard de 27 años, advised that at 1930 hours he was walking in the alley of the 900 Bloque de Cooper Road. A male, early 20’s, wearing a white shirt and black pants, walked by him. Repentinamente, this subject grabbed the victim from behind. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed. It is unknown if the suspect also intended to rob the victim.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck and back. Cortez’ wounds are not life-threatening.

En septiembre 5, 2013, en alrededor 1930 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the La Hacienda Carniceria located at 657 Sur Ventura carretera. Officers learned an unknown male armed with a handgun entered the business and robbed the store at gunpoint. The unknown male fled the store with an unknown amount of cash. Oxnard Police Department Detectives are currently investigating the crime.

En 09/06/13 en aproximadamente 2106 horas, oficiales fueron enviados a la 1900 block of Napoleon Avenue regarding a shooting. When officers arrived they located a male subject who had been shot. Despite emergency responders’ efforts to save the subject, he died as a result of his injuries.

(OXNARD, California), Juan Jesus Martinez, 33 of Oxnard has been arrested by Oxnard Police detectives with the Family Protection Unit and charged with felony physical child abuse.

The Oxnard Police Department received information that an 8 year old child had been hurt by her father. The victim told investigators that her father had hurt her and caused her injuries.

En 11-14-13 en aproximadamente 2200 horas, Oxnard police officers were contacted in the area of Courtland Street and Clara Avenue, reference a robbery with a gun to a pizza delivery man that had just occurred in the 500 block of Cuesta Del Mar.

The suspects were described as 2 machos, 18-20 años de edad. Both were wearing sweatshirts with the hoods pulled over their heads and covering their faces. One suspect was in possession of a black semi-automatic handgun. Three large pizzas and an order of Buffalo wings were taken. The suspects fled eastbound on Cuesta Del Mar towards Courtland Street.

The Oxnard Police Department District Three Team and Community Affairs Manager received donations of 245 turkeys from local businesses and community members for the neediest of families in our City. Frank Intermediate, Green Valley School, La Escuelita and others, the Oxnard Police Department was once again able to provide families with certificates that they will redeem at this morning for one 12 – 20 lb. turkey.

“We could not be more proud of the men and women of the Oxnard Police Department, who are already working around the clock, and were still able to muster the energy to reach out to local businesses and community partners to make this event this success, especially our Community Affairs Manager and District 3 Team”, said Jeri Williams, Jefe de la Policía.

The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI / Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, Diciembre 27, 2013, at an undisclosed location within the City limits between the hours of 8 PM y 3 AM.

Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and / or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists only momentarily. According to the National HighwayTraffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), checkpoints have provided the most effective documented results of any of the DUI Enforcement strategies, while yielding considerable cost savings of $6 para cada $1 gastado. En 12-16-13, en aproximadamente 1650 horas, officers were dispatched to a call of a fight in the 200 block of East Dollie Street. Officers contacted a 16-year old male who said that he was approached by two suspects and battered. The victim sustained minor injuries. The suspects took the victim’s stereo headphones.

The suspects fled on foot but were located by officers a short distance away. Pedro Diaz Gutierrez, 20-residente de Oxnard años de edad, and Braulio Alfaro Martinez, 23-residente de Oxnard años de edad, were arrested and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on suspicion of robbery. The victim’s property was recovered.

Officers contacted a 46-year old male who said he was approached by two suspects who demanded his money. The suspects struck the victim with a tire iron and a handgun before fleeing on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Centro Médico Regional de Juan para el tratamiento.
