DETALLES:
En octubre 27, 2012, en alrededor 1:05 A.M., Oxnard police officers responded to Pleasant Valley Road and Saviers Road after receiving a call of an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle that had driven into a building. Una vez en escena, officers and EMS personnel found that a Chevy Astro Van, driven by Felix Morales of Oxnard, had collided into the business, Ortiz Bakery #2, en 152 East Pleasant Valley Road causing extensive damage to the building and trapping Morales in his vehicle. Firefighters had to utilize special equipment to extricate Morales from his vehicle.

Morales sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Morales was traveling eastbound on Pleasant Valley Road after being involved in a minor-injury hit and run collision in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Perkins Road. While fleeing, Morales lost control of his vehicle and drove into the building.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this collision.

(OXNARD, California) En 9:39 a.m., Noviembre 15, 2012, the Oxnard Police Department responded to a report of possible human remains in the area of 4th and D Streets in Oxnard. Detectives from the Oxnard Police Department responded and located what appeared to be an adult skull and jaw bone. The bones appeared to be weathered, and did not appear to be from any recent event. Along with the bones were several items indicating they came from an altar, such as a “Santa Muerte” shrine. The bones were taken by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification purposes. The other items were taken as evidence. Detectives interviewed several persons in the area. The investigation will continue by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit.

Personal del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard están llevando a cabo el control del tráfico en las carreteras que rodean un agujero del fregadero en la Avenida Rose y Raiders Way. The sink hole was reported by passing motorists this morning at approximately 1:45 A.M.

En 11/30/12, en aproximadamente 1942 horas, agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard respondieron a St. John’s Regional Medical Center re: una víctima punzante. DETALLES: En enero 2, 2013 en alrededor 11:53 Soy el Departamento de Policía de Oxnard recibió una 911 Colgar Llamada de una residencia en el 2000 bloque de Santa Lucía. Poco después, it was reported that shots were being fired from the same residence. Officers arrived, and heard shots being fired from the residence. Oxnard SWAT officers arrived, and attempted to communicate with the person(s) dentro de la residencia utilizando un altavoz. DUI/Drivers License checkpoint Planned this Weekend

Oxnard, CA – Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Friday, Febrero 22^nd en un lugar secreto dentro de los límites de la ciudad en el horario de 9:00 p.m. a 3:00 a.m.

Officers will be contacting drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Officers will also check drivers for proper licensing and will strive to delay motorists only momentarily. En febrero 22, 2013, entre las horas de 9:00 P.M. y 3:00 A.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted two sobriety and drivers license checkpoints.

The first checkpoint was conducted in the southbound lanes of Rose Avenue just south of Mountain View Avenue. The second checkpoint was conducted in the southbound lanes of Hobson Way south of Seventh Street.

Funcionarios seleccionados 616 motorists who passed through the checkpoints and conducted eight DUI investigations. Of those investigations, six drivers were arrested for DUI. One driver was contacted by a checkpoint officer and was found to have methamphetamine in his possession. He was arrested for being in possession of illegal narcotics.

As a result of the two checkpoints, 21 drivers were cited for various drivers license violations. Seventeen drivers were issued citations for driving without a valid driver’s license, one driver was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license, and one was cited for having open containers of alcohol in his vehicle. Eight vehicles were towed from the checkpoints.

(OXNARD, California) – On Tuesday February 15, 2013, en alrededor 11:00 p.m., a woman was at a downtown Oxnard nightclub where she met 24 year-old Hugo Alaniz from Oxnard. The victim consumed several alcoholic drinks while at the nightclub before leaving with Alaniz and several of his acquaintances to an after party at a nearby apartment.

The victim passed out at the apartment and Alaniz proceeded to sexually assault the victim while she was unconscious. Witnesses intervened to stop Alaniz from further sexually assaulting the victim.

Alaniz was arrested on Tuesday March 5, 2013 by detectives from the Oxnard Police Department’s Family Protection Unit and charged with rape of an intoxicated person. He is currently being held at the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $100,000.

Police investigators are concerned that Alaniz may have assaulted other victims in the past and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Dale McAlpine at (805) 385-3921.

(OXNARD, California) – On Monday March 11, 2013, en alrededor 10:13 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department stopped Daniel Ruiz for a traffic violation. Ruiz was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. When arriving at the police station, Ruiz told officers that he was not feeling well. As a precaution, officers contacted Gold Coast Ambulance who responded. Ruiz told emergency personnel that he had swallowed some methamphetamine. Ruiz was transported to St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard where he was admitted.

En 4-28-13, en 0221 horas, a motorist reported seeing two subjects burglarizing a business in the 200 Block of Colonia Road. Officers responded and found broken glass in front of a mini-market. Officers saw one subject inside the business.

This suspect initially hid and refused to come out. Pepper balls (PAVA powder) were inserted into the business and had nearly immediate effect. El sospechoso, later identified as Jose Flores Rodriguez, 41 año, Residente de Oxnard, surrendered to officers without further incident.

Rodriguez was charged with 459 PC. The second subject initially observed by the witness was not located.
