En junio 23, 2015, en 3:30pm, officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit/ Gang Unit observed a black 2001 Honda Accord driving in the area of ‘C’ St. and Doris Avenue, en la Ciudad de Oxnard. Officers observed the vehicle make a traffic violation and stopped the vehicle in the 200 bloque de Doris Avenida. During the traffic stop officers learned that the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the day from an address in Oxnard. The three occupants of the vehicle, all of which are residents of Oxnard, were detained. El conductor del vehículo, Raynah Lara, 20 años de edad, fue detenido por la posesión de un vehículo robado. Lara was also in possession of a small amount of heroin and several hypodermic needles. DETALLES:
En agosto 5, 2015, en aproximadamente 1230 horas, a concerned citizen noticed suspicious activity in the parking lot of Shopping at the Rose and called the Oxnard Police Department. Patrol Officers quickly responded and found two people inside the described vehicle, un rojo 1997 Ford pickup truck. One of the suspects, Rory Reaume, 28 year-old transient, was in the act of smoking an illegal drug. Both Reaume and the other suspect, Ainsley Van Doren, 25 year-old transient, lied about their names to avoid arrest for their outstanding arrest warrants. By using a portable fingerprint identification device, the officers were able to identify Reaume and Van Doren in the field and arrest them.

Van Doren was arrested for five outstanding arrest warrants for crimes including burglary, gran robo, and fraud. Reaume was arrested for providing a false name to the officers, possession of narcotics and paraphernalia, as well as five outstanding arrest warrants for past fraud and forgery charges.

Reaume was already a suspect in several incidents of passing counterfeit US Currency at several Oxnard retail businesses since June 2015. Patrol Officers found suspected counterfeit currency in the possession of Reaume. Oxnard Detectives and US Secret Service Agents arrived and confirmed that the money was indeed counterfeit. Inside the suspects’ vehicle additional counterfeit currency and evidence of production of counterfeit currency was found. The investigation of the counterfeit currency is ongoing, and any possible victims are encouraged to contact Detective Escalante.

DETALLES: En febrero 17, 2014 en alrededor 1838 horas, los oficiales respondieron a la 2000 Block of Mariposa Street regarding a call of shots fired. When officers arrived they located two male shooting victims. un tema, un 18 year old male was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition. A second male subject was also located with a gunshot wound; despite emergency responders’ efforts to save the subject, he died as a result of his injuries. The decedent was identified as 24 year old Joshua Van.

Investigators tirelessly worked on the case and identified Alejandro Morales, un 31 residente de Oxnard años de edad, as being involved in Van’s murder. DETALLES:

En 8-24-15 en 5:18 P.M. a domestic disturbance occurred on the sidewalk at C Street and 8^ª Street involving Luis Arroyo and an adult female (Nombre omitido). During the disturbance Arroyo is alleged to have physically assaulted the victim to include the display and firing of a handgun.

Two Oxnard officers arrived as the incident was unfolding and witnessed Arroyo in possession of the handgun. Arroyo ran from the officers while holding the handgun, but he dropped it during the chase. The handgun was quickly recovered by responding officers and Arroyo was captured in the rear yard of a nearby apartment building.

The female victim was not injured during the incident. Arroyo was charged with numerous crimes related to domestic violence, amenazas criminales, weapons possession and recklessly discharging a firearm.

El domingo, September 13th, 2015, La independencia de México de España se celebrará durante el desfile de Fiestas Patrias anual que se celebra en el centro de Oxnard. En noviembre 10, 2015 en aproximadamente 03:10 a.m., detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force were assisting Oxnard Police patrol officers, conducting an investigation into a stolen vehicle in the 1300 bloque de E. Channel Islands Blvd., en la Ciudad de Oxnard. Detectives observed Edith Cooper enter a 2008 GMC Yukon, which had been reported stolen to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the stolen vehicle failed to yield. El conductor del vehículo, Edith Cooper, led officers on a vehicle pursuit reaching speeds of 65 miles per hour in 35 miles per hour zone and failing to stop at a red light. Cooper ultimately abandoned the vehicle in the 700 block of West Channel Islands Blvd and fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend Cooper after a short foot pursuit.

Burglary tools were found in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Cooper was booked for the unlawful driving of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, posesión de herramientas de robo, and felony evading of a police officer.

The Oxnard Police Department launched the Oxnard Auto Theft Task Force (OATTF) in early 2015. Detectives assigned to this task force proactively locate and arrest those responsible for committing auto thefts in Oxnard. The objective of the OATTF is to reduce the number of stolen vehicles in Oxnard through education, intervention, and enforcement. DETALLES: En febrero 20, 2016 en aproximadamente 9:20 PM, investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit were conducting uniformed crime suppression when they observed Daniel Arciga, 20 residente de Oxnard años de edad, en el 1800 bloque de la Avenida Napoleón. Arciga immediately fled and discarded a loaded firearm. Arciga was taken into custody after a brief chase.

Arciga is a documented Oxnard gang member and has several prior felony convictions including a conviction of felon in possession of a firearm. Arciga was arrested for weapons violations and booked at the Ventura County Jail.

En 01/21/08 en aproximadamente 1353 hours officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 400 block of East Guava Street. Nobody was injured during the shooting but several shell casings were located. A search of the area for the suspects was conducted with negative results. During the investigation it was determined to be gang/tagger related.

DETALLES: En noviembre 5, 2008, agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard respondieron a varios reportes de robos callejeros ocurridos entre 9:40 PM y 10:16 PM. During those incidents, victims were walking in the area of Seventh and “E” Streets when they were contacted by the listed suspects. During those contacts the suspects demanded the victims’ cellular phones, cash and shoes. After the crimes, the suspects were seen entering a residence in the 600 bloque de West Seventh Street.

En 1/28/09 en aproximadamente 1120 horas, Oxnard Police Officer Ricky Vega was patrolling the Rose Park area of Oxnard when a white vehicle caught his attention.
