DETALLES: The Oxnard Police Department would like to notify residents that the community is experiencing a recent increase in stolen vehicles throughout the city. The south end of Oxnard has had a notable increase in activity, with a significant number of vehicles stolen since July 1, 2013. Neighborhoods in South Oxnard have seen a particular increase, incluso: Cal Gisler, Blackstock North and South, Pleasant Valley Estates, Southwinds, Cypress, and Villa Capri.

Vehicles that appear to be targeted are mid-90’s Honda’s, Nissan’s, and Toyota’s. Of these thefts, keys were available in 22 of the thefts, and an additional 5 were left with the engine running.

We ask that you assist by taking a proactive approach to deter future stolen vehicles and avoid becoming a victim. We remind you tomake sure to lock your vehicles and remove the keys. We can all take small steps to avoid becoming a victim.

El viernes, Mayo 30, 2014, entre las horas de 8:00 P.M. y 3:00 A.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a multi-location DUI/Driver’s license checkpoint in the City of Oxnard. The first location was the westbound lanes of Pleasant Valley Road at C Street. The second location was southbound Harbor Boulevard at Wooley Road. These locations were chosen to provide increased DUI deterrence and in response to recent alcohol related arrests and/or DUI collisions.

The results of tonight’s checkpoint are as follows:
· 410 Vehicles through
· 410 Drivers screened
· 6 Investigaciones DUI

· No DUI drug arrests
· No Criminal arrests
· 10 Citations issued to unlicensed drivers

En agosto 11, 2014, Albert Salazar, a 21-year old Oxnard resident, was contacted by Special Enforcement Unit (SU) officers and found to be in possession of a .32 pistola calibre. Salazar was arrested for numerous firearms violations including being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm (He is currently on probation and has been served with the Colonia gang injunction).
En agosto 18, 2014, Alexandro Valadez, a 26-year old Oxnard resident, was contacted by patrol officers in the 500 bloque de Hill Street. He was found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun. Valadez was arrested for numerous firearms violations including being a felon in possession of a firearm.
En agosto 26, 2014, Cesar Reyes, a 26-year old Oxnard resident, was contacted by SEU officers during a probation search of his residence in the 700 block of Teakwood Street. Reyes was found to be in possession of a .45 pistola calibre. Reyes was arrested for numerous firearms violations including being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Desde enero 1^er, Oxnard officers have made seventy-two (72) firearms-related arrests. The Oxnard Police Department has seized one-hundred and seventy-five (175) firearms year-to-date and we will continue to focus our efforts on prohibited persons in possession of firearms.

As an additional component of the Oxnard Police Department’s Operación segura y resistente initiative, the Department continued to increase its special patrols in the months of August and September. These additional patrols augmented our normal patrol staffing and were focused on contacting individuals that may be responsible for committing a high number of crimes including a series of street robberies occurring in the Southwinds neighborhood in south Oxnard.

En septiembre 13, 2014, investigators from our Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) were conducting directed patrol in South Oxnard in response to recent a series of street robberies when they conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Clara Street and South “J” Street. A 25-year old passenger in the vehicle was contacted during a probation search and found to be in possession of a .22 pistola calibre. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
En septiembre 15, 2014, VCU investigators conducted several compliance checks throughout the city of Oxnard. The compliance checks were directed at those subjects who are prohibited from owning firearms and have a firearm(s) registered to them. en adición, investigators conducted several compliance checks on Post-Release Offenders (PRO). During the checks, dos (2) PRO offenders were arrested on various charges.

Officers will continue these focused enforcement efforts throughout the coming months as we know a small number of offenders are responsible for a disproportionately high amount of the city’s criminal activity.

The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a multiple location DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Saturday, Enero 17, 2015 en un lugar secreto dentro de los límites de la ciudad en el horario de 8:00 p.m. a 3:00 a.m.

The Oxnard Police Department wants all drivers to think before you drive and if you choose to drink, don’t drive. En 2014, Oxnard Police officers arrested over 500 drivers for driving while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs. Officers also investigated 174 alcohol-related collisions causing the tragic and preventable deaths of three people.

DETALLES:After a six-month long investigation, the Oxnard Police Department and Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Financial Crimes Units arrested Gerard Paul Cruz Mangubat, 32 años de edad, and Ryan Romero, 27 años de edad, ambos residentes en Oxnard, for elder financial abuse, comprobar el fraude, credit card fraud, and Identity Theft crimes. Durante 2015, Mangubat and Romero worked as in-home caregivers for terminally ill elders and used their positions to access the victims’ financial and identity information to commit thefts and fraud crimes, totaling over $60,000 in losses. The investigation was aided by the cooperation of several banks that absorbed the financial losses.

En octubre 14, 2015, detectives arrested Mangubat and Romero at their home and seized various items of Identity Theft from their home pursuant to a search warrant authorized by the Ventura County Superior Court. The investigation was supported by the Elder Abuse Unit of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Criminal charges were filed against Mangubat and Romero as they were booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. Mangubat has a bail of $750,000 while Romero has his bail set at $50,000. Arraignments for Mangubat and Romero were scheduled for this afternoon, Octubre 16, 2015.

Neither Mangubat nor Romero had any known criminal history and both worked during 2015 for various employers. En diciembre 17, 2009 en 2:32 PM, the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 1400 bloque de Magnolia Av. referencia a un tema que amenaza a su familia con un arma de fuego. Oficiales, including members of the Special Weapons and Tactics team, responded to the home. El sujeto fue detenido y encarcelado por problemas de salud mental. El nombre de la persona no se da a conocer.

It was determined that no gun was involved in the incident, and no one was injured. Fremont Junior High School fue cerrada por aproximadamente 20 minutos durante el incidente como medida de precaución.

En diciembre 31, 2009, entre las horas de 6:00 P.M. y 4:00 A.m., agentes de la Unidad de Tráfico del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard llevaron a cabo una patrulla de la saturación de DUI. Los oficiales patrullaban la ciudad de Oxnard, con énfasis en los conductores ebrios y control del tránsito,.

En 1622 horas, Oxnard police received a call of a subject driving a black pick-up equipped with flashing red and blue lights and a siren in the 300 bloque de Vanderbilt Drive. En 4-26-10, oficiales patrullaban el 1600-block of South Oxnard bulevar cuando vieron una de plata 4 puerta del vehículo que coincidía con la descripción de un vehículo utilizado recientemente en varios robos que se produjeron durante el fin de semana. Línea fotográfica de hasta les mostró a las víctimas y los testigos y que fueron capaces de identificar Payne y Destellos como los sospechosos de los robos de este fin de semana. Payne fue acusado de 2 cargos de robo y conspiración, mientras Lumas fue acusado 1 contar de robo y conspiración.

Ambos sospechosos fueron reservados en la Planta de la cárcel del Condado de Ventura Principal y su fianza se ha fijado en $500,000.00.
