En abril 21, 2016 en aproximadamente 1020 horas, a detective assigned to the Oxnard Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force located an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of Doris Avenue and F Street in the city of Oxnard. The detective observed a female identified as Crystal Dimas driving the stolen 1998 Nissan 200 SX. That vehicle had been reported stolen to the Oxnard Police Department hours earlier. Additional police officers arrived in the area and conducted a high risk stop on the vehicle. Dimas and a female passenger, named Samara Eaves, were taken into custody without incident.
Dimas was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Eaves was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and other fraud related charges.
The Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force is asking the residents of Oxnard to assist in preventing auto theft by never leaving your keys in your vehicle.
