An Oxnard Police traffic officer recovered a stolen vehicle near the 101 Freeway and Vineyard Avenue exit in Oxnard and made an arrest.

El jueves, 6/29/17, just before 9 a.m., police spotted the stolen white Mitsubishi Mirage going north on the freeway. The car was driven by a juvenile with other juvenile passengers. Police followed the vehicle and the driver disobeyed traffic laws.

Oxnard Police took a juvenile into custody for being in possession of the stolen vehicle.

The Oxnard Police Department is currently searching for a missing 68 year old dependent adult who walked away from his home. Roberto Guzman was last seen in the area of the 700 block of Janetwood Dr, en Oxnard, around 6am this morning. Sr.. Guzman suffers from Alzheimer’s. Sr.. Guzman is described as a Hispanic male, 5’-4”, 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. Sr.. Guzman was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, white shirt and tan cargo pants.

Currently the Oxnard Police Department is conducting an area search for Mr. Guzman.

En junio 25, 2017, en aproximadamente 4:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Gang Unit (Unidad Especial de Aplicación) were conducting uniform gang enforcement in the area of Garfield Ave and Cooper Rd when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, for a vehicle violation.

The vehicle was driven by Steven Gutierrez who is on probation for theft with search terms for stolen property. Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded firearm, drogas, parafernalia de drogas, and items consistent with drug sales. Gutierrez was arrested for all of the above listed items.

En junio 25, 2017, en alrededor 0112 horas, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a shooting victim in the 3600 block of South B Street in Oxnard. DUI Checkpoint Nets Four DUI Arrests

The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on June 24, 2017, entre las horas de 8:00 p.m. y 3:00 a.m. The checkpoint was located southbound Rose Avenue south of Tiesa Lane. - One of the impaired drivers was contacted after being involved in a collision. The driver was northbound Rose Avenue and almost veered into the southbound lanes but collided into a light pole and tree in the center divider several feet south of the checkpoint.

En junio 23, 2017, en 2:45 p.m., an Oxnard officer located a black Kia which had been recently reported stolen. The juvenile was charged with: Robbery and Kidnapping. Eber Olguin was transported to Ventura County Jail. The juvenile is currently in custody at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center awaiting his hearing.

(OXNARD, California) – Detectives with the Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit have arrested a second suspect in the 2012 murder of 19-year old Jose Gonzales of Oxnard. A 22-year old Hispanic male, who was with Gonzales at the time, was also shot but survived the shooting.

The shooting occurred on July 9, 2012 en aproximadamente 8:52 P.M. en el 2500 block of Greenbrook Drive. Oxnard police officers responded to the scene after receiving several 9-1-1 calls of a shooting victim at that location. The police officers arrived and found Jose Gonzales suffering from a gunshot wound. Police officers found a second shooting, a 22-year old Hispanic male, a short distance away. The 22-year old was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) and survived his injury. Desafortunadamente, Gonzales was declared deceased at the scene.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit and the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) responded to the scene. The Major Crimes Unit led the investigation and worked very closely with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. The detectives worked tirelessly and persistently in order to obtain sufficient evidence to warrant the arrest of suspects in this case.

The first arrest in this case occurred on January 23, 2017. Major Crimes Detectives arrested 25-year old Hugo Sanchez, de Oxnard, for his involvement in the murder of Jose Gonzales.

En junio 19, 2017, shortly before noon, agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and local law enforcement authorities in Menasha, Wisconsin, arrested 23-year old Gustavo Cuevas of Oxnard. Cuevas was taken into custody based on an arrest warrant Major Crimes Detectives obtained for his involvement in the murder of Jose Gonzales. Cuevas is in the process of being extradited back to Ventura County. Until he is returned, Cuevas will be held at detention facility in the state of Wisconsin.

The arrest of Cuevas is a result of the hard work and dedication of the Major Crimes Detectives, and in direct partnership with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Major Crimes Detectives will continue to investigate the senseless murder of Jose Gonzales and future arrests in this case are probable. En junio 21, 2017, en aproximadamente 4:40 p.m., un oficial de policía de Oxnard intentó llevar a cabo una parada de tráfico en un motociclista en la zona de Ventura Road y Town Center Drive con respecto a una violación exceso de velocidad. sin embargo, el motociclista, identificado como 55 años de edad, Louie Reyes, de Oxnard, fracasado en producir y continuó hacia el sur por carretera de Ventura.
