En 4/12/18, en aproximadamente 5:39 a.m., Oxnard police officers responded to a robbery with a knife in the 1200 block of West Gonzales Rd. Officers contacted the victim and learned that the suspect took the victim’s property and was last seen leaving the area on foot. Officer began checking the area and the suspect was located a short distance away in the 900 block of Gonzales Rd. En abril 12, 2018, en aproximadamente 11:30 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit contacted a known gang member in the 1900 bloque de la avenida San Gorgonio. The subject was identified as Arturo Suarez and he subsequently fled from officers when contacted. Suarez was caught after a brief foot pursuit and found to be in possession of a concealed firearm. Suarez was arrested for firearms and narcotics related charges.

En abril 6, 2018, 6:10 p.m., Officers and Investigators from the Oxnard Police Departments Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) respondido a la 3000 BLK. of Napa Street regarding a shooting victim. The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he underwent surgery and is currently listed in stable condition. Investigators are diligently working the case.

Police were called to Oxnard Boulevard south of Vineyard Avenue, just before 5:00 p.m. Officers found the victim, un 18 residente de Oxnard años de edad,, had been hit by an Amtrak train. The train had just left the Oxnard station going northbound. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the pedestrian walking on the train tracks, southbound, directly towards the path of the oncoming train. The man tried to jump out of the way of the train at the very last moment, but was hit by the train, and he suffered life-threatening injuries. The man was taken to Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

En abril 7, 2018, en aproximadamente 11:26 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to an injury traffic collision at Rice Avenue and Camino Del Sol.

Officers contacted Andrew Burton, a 39-year-old Simi Valley resident, who was the driver of one of the involved vehicles. Officers observed signs and symptoms of driving under the influence of alcohol. Durante la investigación, a loaded firearm was recovered from the vehicle.

Burton was arrested for felony charges related to driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of the firearm.

En 4/4/2018, en aproximadamente 8:55 p.m., an Oxnard Police Department Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Mercedes C30, en el 2300 block of Maulhardt Ave. El vehículo no cedió el paso y se inició una persecución.. The Mercedes traveled to the Nyeland Acres neighborhood where several passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle continued north on Santa Clara Avenue where officers were able to deploy a spike strip, which deflated the tires. The vehicle continued at a slow speed before coming to a stop near Santa Clara Ave and Wright Road. El controlador, Victor Lopez, fue puesto bajo custodia.

En 4/5/18, en aproximadamente 1:55 a.m., an Oxnard Police Department Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Kia Sedona, en el área de la 1300 block of Birch Street. The vehicle did not initially stop and continued driving a short distance. The officer observed the passenger toss items from the vehicle. The vehicle stopped shortly afterward. It was discovered that the passenger, Cody Henry, had a felony warrant for his arrest.

During a search of the area where officers observed the items being tossed from the vehicle, two handguns were located. Henry was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant, several gun offenses, including a felon in possession of a firearm. Officers also found an additional passenger in the vehicle, Desiree Amador, to have an outstanding felony warrant. She was also taken into custody.

En abril 2, 2018 Oficiales de la Unidad de Aplicación Especial del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard (Unidad de pandillas) were conducting directed gang enforcement throughout the city due to recent rise in gang related violence.

Aproximadamente 2030 horas, SEU officers observed a known probationer and Oxnard gang member, Jesse Chairez, en el 600 bloque de Howell Rd. As Officers approached, Chairez discarded a loaded revolver handgun. Chairez was arrested without incident and charged with firearm related violations.

Chairez was transported to Ventura County Jail.

En abril 2, 2018, en aproximadamente 12:36 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to an injury traffic collision on Rose Avenue at the intersection of Mountain View Avenue. When officers arrived they located a motorcyclist in the roadway with fatal injuries.

Sobre la base de la investigación preliminar, officers determined that the motorcyclist had been traveling southbound on Rose Avenue approaching the intersection of Mountain View Avenue. La 2011 Ford F650 flatbed truck, driven by a 36-year-old Oxnard resident, was traveling northbound on Rose Avenue, making a left turn onto Mountain View Avenue. The motorcyclist collided with the truck and was ejected from the motorcycle.

En marzo de 30, 2018, en aproximadamente 5:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit and Violent Crimes Unit served a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Winchester Drive in the City of Oxnard.

Jose Luis Pineda was contacted outside his residence and arrested prior to the service of the warrant. He was initially arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. During the subsequent search of his residence and property, officers found a loaded gun, a large amount of cash and drugs. All items were seized as evidence.

Suspect Pineda faces charges that include being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and possession of narcotics for sales.
