En agosto 18, 2022, la Unidad de Control de Drogas del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard (EL DIO) y el Equipo de Policía Vecinal del Distrito Sur (NPT) were conducting directed enforcement in the South Winds Neighborhood due to recent community complaints. Detectives observed a suspicious vehicle and requested assistance from Oxnard Patrol Officers.
Oxnard Patrol Officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop and the vehicle immediately fled. A pursuit was initiated and the vehicle continued west on Hueneme Road from Perkins Road and into the City of Port Hueneme. Durante la persecución, el conductor, a 15-year-old Male Juvenile, threw a loaded firearm from the vehicle. After the driver threw the firearm from the vehicle, he yielded and was arrested without incident.
Leann Guzman was a passenger in the vehicle and found to have an outstanding felony arrest warrant. Jeannette Siquedo was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was placed under arrest for misdemeanor narcotics violations. The Male Juvenile was placed under arrest for felony evading and several firearms violations, todos los delitos graves. He was transported to the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center
