On July 4th, the Channel Islands Harbor District will be hosting its 13th annual 4th of July event.  El evento comenzará a las 8:00 A.M. con un 10K & 5K Fun Walk along Sunset Lane and Mandalay Beach Road. This will be followed by the July 4^ª Children’s Parade on Harbor Boulevard. The parade will begin at 11:00 A.M. and take place on south Harbor Boulevard between Cabezone Way and Albacore Way. Harbor Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic during the parade. Motorists can use Sunset Lane or Ocean Drive as an alternate route.

Activities and entertainment are scheduled throughout the day at the Fisherman’s Wharf and Marina. There will be vendors with booths as well as a farmer’s market. This will be a family oriented event with fun for all. The event will end with a fireworks show that begins at 9:00 P.M.

No alcohol, fuegos artificiales, including safe and sane fireworks, or flare ignition will be tolerated. All of the involved law enforcement agencies will be conducting strict enforcement of all related offenses.

This event is expected to draw a large crowd and traffic delays are expected following the fireworks show. The Oxnard Police Department will be handling traffic control to expedite the flow of traffic surrounding the event site. El Departamento de Policía de Oxnard llevará a cabo varias operaciones de DUI durante este mes de julio 4^ª weekend. Starting on Friday night, Julio 2^nd, officers from the Oxnard Police Traffic Unit will be deployed for a multi-location sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint in the City of Oxnard. The checkpoint will begin at 6:00 P.M. y finalizará a las 2:00 A.m.

El sábado, Julio 3^rd, agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard estarán participando en una "Evita el 14 Condado de Ventura” DUI checkpoint hosted by the California Highway Patrol. This checkpoint will begin at 6:00 P.M. y finalizará a las 2:00 P.M. Officers from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and Ventura Police Department will also be working at this checkpoint scheduled to be held in the city limits of Oxnard.

In addition to these checkpoints, several officers throughout Ventura County will be deployed this weekend in the cities of Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, llenar más, Moorpark, Camarillo, and Port Hueneme searching for impaired drivers. These officers are also part of the “Avoid the 14 Condado de Ventura” Campaña de DUI.

The goal of these DUI operations is to arrest impaired drivers and warn people of the dangers and consequences of driving while impaired. Over the Limit, Under Arrest es en todo el estado y el condado de Ventura!  According to research conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, someone in the United States dies in an alcohol-related collision every 45 minutos y 32 times a day.

En 2009, durante el número de julio 4^ª período de vacaciones (Julio 3^rd hasta la medianoche julio 6^ª), 30 people lost their lives in California due to alcohol-related collisions. There were an additional 363 people injured on California roadways as a result of an impaired driver.

Last year in Oxnard, durante el número de julio 4^ª fiesta, el Departamento de Policía de Oxnard investigó sobre 30 traffic collisions. 12 of those collisions involved injuries to motorists and three of those injury collisions were caused by a DUI driver. So far this year, el Departamento de Policía de Oxnard ha arrestado a más de 475 DUI drivers and remains committed to its ‘Zero Tolerance, DUI Campaign.’

The popular and effective Oxnard Police Department Mounted Unit will be deployed Saturday, Julio 3^rd and Sunday, Julio 4^ª como parte de la estrategia de supresión de los fuegos artificiales de la Agencia.

Officers Larry Eklund, his partner “Clinton,” y el oficial Jim Evans y su compañero "JJ,” will be deployed on Oxnard beaches Saturday, Julio 3^rd alertar a la opinión pública que Oxnard continúa, enfoque de tolerancia cero a los fuegos artificiales, especialmente en el 4^ª semana de julio. Arnold carretera will again be closed on Sunday, Julio 4^ª, desde 4 PM para 2 AM. This continues a practice begun years ago to not only protect the wetlands and wildlife located there, but to discourage the use of illegal fireworks in this fragile environment. Members of the media have inquired about the driver’s name. The driver of the SUV was Suisami James Faasua, edad 22, de Oxnard.  He was wearing his seatbelt and both of the vehicle’s front airbags deployed. He sustained only minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene by Oxnard firefighters and Gold Coast Ambulance paramedics. Alcohol is not a factor and no citations were issued. The collision is still under investigation. The roadway remains closed at this time while Edison tripulaciones hacen reparaciones.

En 6/25/10 alrededor 06:55 AM, Officers responded to a call of a robbery that had just occurred to a person at 2814 Saviers Rd., fuera del Lauderland lavado y secado. The victim exited the business with her purse on a cart. The suspect grabbed the purse from the laundry cart and a brief struggle with the victim ensued over the purse. The suspect fled with the victim’s property. The victim gave chase to the rear of the business. The suspect brandished a handgun at the victim, who continued to pursue the suspect.

As the suspect neared his vehicle, which was parked in a nearby neighborhood he fired one shot from his gun at the victim. The victim was not hit by the gunfire. The suspect entered his vehicle and fled the scene.

The Oxnard Police Department wants to remind residents of the dangers of pursuing the suspect of a crime. The best practice is to be a good witness and obtain a detailed description of the suspect(s) así como cualquier posible alejarse vehículos.

Temprano esta mañana los oficiales respondieron a una llamada de un robo que acababa de ocurrir a una persona en 2814 Saviers Rd., fuera del Lauderland lavado y secado. Una vez que los oficiales se enteraron de que un robo a mano armada había ocurrido a un cliente en Lauderland. También se les dijo que el sospechoso estaba armado y habían disparado un tiro en la víctima mientras salía de la zona.

Esta tarde los investigadores recuperaron imágenes de vigilancia desde el interior de la empresa antes del robo. Este es el sospechoso antes de abandonar el negocio y el acaparamiento de la cartera de la víctima.

Si alguien reconoce al sospechoso en esta foto se les pide que llame 911 y tienen la policía local en contacto con él. Se le considera armado y peligroso.
