DETALLES:
En noviembre 21, 2012 en aproximadamente 0650 horas, officers were dispatched to the Dollar Smart Money Center located at 1460 Doris Avenue regarding a robbery. During the investigation, it was determined that two male suspects gained entry into the business and confronted the employee. The suspects assaulted the employee and demanded money. The suspects obtained merchandise from the business then fled the business.

The employee sustained a minor contusion to his face which did not require medical attention.

DETALLES:
En noviembre 19, 2012, en alrededor 8:02 p.m., Oficiales Oxnard PD respondieron a la zona de Ventura Boulevard y Del Norte Boulevardafter recibir una llamada de una sola colisión del vehículo en el que el vehículo había volcado. Una vez en escena, officers and EMS personnel found that a gray Lexus ES330 had run off the road of Ventura Boulevard, just west of Del Norte Boulevard.
 
Preliminary investigation indicates that the Lexus, driven by Adam Niel Side, was traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard towards Del Norte Boulevard. Por razones desconocidas, the Lexus drove off the roadway and onto a dirt shoulder at a high rate of speed. El Lexus golpeó varias áreas de tierra desigual, mientras que en un plano inclinado. DETALLES:

En septiembre 6, 2012, Oxnard Police Department detectives and members of the Ventura County Cold Case Task Force arrested Thomas Young, edad 65, of Fairfield, Alabama, for the murder of Stacy Knappenberger. Stacy Knappenberger era 15 años de edad cuando fue asesinado en julio 30, 1980, in her Oxnard home. An autopsy at that time determined that Knappenberger had died from blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds. It is also suspected that a sexual assault occurred.
 
After his arrest in Alabama, Young declined to voluntarily waive extradition proceedings to Ventura County. The Ventura County DA’s Office applied for a Governor’s Warrant which was approved and sent to the Alabama Governor’s Office. The extradition was approved through the Jefferson County Superior Court, and Young’s extradition was ordered.
 
Members of the Ventura County Cold Case Task Force proceeded to Alabama and have returned to Ventura County, Noviembre 18, 2012, with Young in custody. He has been booked late last night into Ventura County Main Jail with no bail. Young’s first court appearance in Ventura County is scheduled at 9:00 AM, Lunes, Noviembre 19, 2012, en la División 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court.

Personal del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard están llevando a cabo el control del tráfico en las carreteras que rodean un agujero del fregadero en la Avenida Rose y Raiders Way.  The sink hole was reported by passing motorists this morning at approximately 1:45 A.M.

En 0038 horas, an Oxnard Police Department patrol officer went to stop a vehicle in the area of Hemlock Street and Ukiah Street for a traffic violation. El conductor no cedió. En noviembre 10, 2012 en aproximadamente 1350 horas, oficiales fueron enviados a la 700 bloque de madera de teca con respecto a un apuñalamiento. En 11-07-2012, en aproximadamente 10:25 AM, agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard respondieron a la 400 bloque de Navito Way en referencia a cinco juveniles visto intentar acceder a una residencia en la zona. As officers responded, five juveniles matching the description were detained a short distance away from the victim residence. Un testigo del incidente identificó positivamente los cinco juveniles. When they were unable to gain access, two of the juveniles were lifted onto the roof where they again attempted to remove another screen to gain access into the residence. Jefe de Policía de Oxnard Jeri Williams está buscando los servicios de una agencia de revisión independiente para examinar dos incidentes fatales recientes que involucraron el Departamento de Policía de Oxnard.
 
El primer incidente involucra el junio 23, 2012 muerte de 26 year-old Oxnard resident Robert Ramirez, who was reported to have been overdosing on methamphetamine. El segundo incidente se refiere a la octubre 13, 2012 muerte a tiros de 21 year-old Oxnard resident Alfonso Limon.
 
En octubre 25, 2012, Jefe Williams en contacto con la Oficina de Evaluación Independiente (OIR) to begin discussions concerning comprehensive reviews of both incidents. On November 6, 2012, Chief Williams and her executive staff met with representatives from OIR.
 
OIR es un grupo de supervisión civil que fue creado por la Junta de Supervisores del Condado de Los Angeles en 2001 for the review of police incidents. OIR makes recommendations where appropriate. OIR currently monitors the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and provides legal advice to ensure that allegations of deputy misconduct are thoroughly, effectively, and fairly investigated. As it carries out its responsibilities, OIR maintains contacts with state and federal prosecutors, as well as civil rights groups and community organizations.
 
Prior to seeking an independent reviewing agency, Chief Williams had previously sent letters to California Attorney General Kamala Harris, extending an assurance of the Oxnard Police Department’s cooperation and access to information related to the cases. A similar letter was also sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in late July.
  
The independent review process is designed to be a systemic evaluation, looking
at how critical incidents are handled, investigated and reviewed. An independent review of these incidents can also potentially serve as a learning opportunity, providing the Department and its officers with additional tools to address future critical incidents.
