En 12/20/13, detectives from the Oxnard Police Department’s Narcotic and Vice unit conducted massage parlor compliance examinations throughout the City of Oxnard. This was done with the assistance of the Ventura County District Attorney’s office. Police had received multiple complaints about these specific locations. The complaints referred to the solicitation of sex and employees of the massage parlors possibly being under 18 años de edad.
The detectives responded to the above listed locations in Oxnard. Through today’s operation, three adults were arrested for Penal Code section 647(b) – Solicitation. If convicted, each person faces up to thirty days in jail, 3 years probation, and a fine.
The Oxnard Police Department takes complaints about this activity seriously and encourages those with information to contact detectives. The Department will conduct more enforcement details like these in the near future to ensure the businesses are operating in compliance with the law.
