En octubre 9, 2014, en aproximadamente 5:00 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Monaco Drive in reference to an injury traffic collision involving a motorcyclist.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the GMC Terrain, driven by Lucille Edgar, was traveling southbound on Victoria Avenue and pulled into the left turn pocket at Monaco Drive in preparation to turn into a private shopping center. The motorcycle, driven by Nash Dingman, was traveling northbound on Victoria Avenue from Channel Islands Boulevard towards Monaco Drive. For an unknown reason, the GMC turned directly into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the front end of the GMC causing Dingman to be ejected from it. Both vehicles sustained major damage.

Dingman, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition. He sustained significant internal injuries, a broken left leg and a broken left arm. Driver Lucille Edgar was transported to Saint John’s Regional Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries.

(OXNARD, California) Two men are facing charges in connection with breaking into several cars in the Rio Lindo Neighborhood of north Oxnard and for suspicion of being under the influence of methamphetamine. The vehicle break-ins occurred early Monday morning at about 4 a.m. Neighbors heard noises outside and saw the two men walking up to cars and checking the handles to see of the doors were left unlocked. The men were then seen going into some of the cars and digging through them.

The men fled when police arrived but were later found hiding nearby in a front yard behind a wall and some bushes. Police officers recovered two backpacks near the two men that contained stolen items taken from the parked cars. The men broke into at least ten cars that were parked on Mono Street and on Isabella Street. There are still several items that were recovered from the break-ins that have not been claimed. Police are asking for anyone who believes these items may belong to them to give the Property Crimes Unit at call at (805) 385-7605.

El viernes, Noviembre 14, 2014, entre las horas de 8:00 p.m. y 3:00 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted two DUI/Driver’s license checkpoints in the City of Oxnard. The first checkpoint was conducted in the southbound lanes of Saviers Road at Bard Road. The second checkpoint was conducted in the southbound lanes of Victoria Avenue just south of Wooley Road. These locations were chosen to provide increased DUI deterrence and in response to recent alcohol related arrests and/or DUI collisions.

The checkpoints resulted in the following statistics:

· 559 Total vehicles
· 534 Drivers screened
· 5 investigación de DUI

· 7 Citations issued to unlicensed drivers

All four of the DUI arrests occurred at the checkpoint held on Victoria Avenue. One of the arrested DUI drivers was an unlicensed 18 year-old male who was under the sole influence of marijuana. Another DUI driver was a 26 year-old female found to have a blood alcohol level that was over twice the legal limit of .08. This was her second DUI arrest in seven years. Her only male passenger in the car was discovered to be currently on DUI probation following two prior DUI arrests and had a suspended driver’s license.

En diciembre 29, 2014, en alrededor 3:25 p.m., two groups of males approached each other on the sidewalk of Lantana Street, north of Gonzales Road. As they went to pass each other, one subject bumped another. Both groups started to act hostile toward each other and started to fight. A suspect withdrew a knife and stabbed the victim, Edgar Reyes, in the throat. As police were responding, both groups dispersed. The surrounding neighborhood was searched but the suspect was not located. Reyes was treated by emergency medical personnel and transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

El sábado, Enero 17, 2015, en alrededor 11:43 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to Victoria Avenue north of Doris Avenue in reference to an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Pontiac Sunfire, driven by Erik Fenley, was traveling northbound on Victoria Avenue from Doris Avenue at a high rate of speed. For an unknown reason, it rear-ended the Toyota Corolla, driven by Ayla Rungaitis, that was also traveling northbound. The impact caused both drivers to lose control of the vehicles. The Pontiac flipped over and came to rest on its roof along the northbound shoulder of the roadway. The Toyota was forced across the center median and came to a stop in the southbound lanes of Victoria Avenue. Both vehicles sustained significant damage from the collision.

Driver Fenley was transported from the scene to Los Robles Hospital in the City of Thousand Oaks where he is currently listed in critical condition. He suffered a skull fracture and significant trauma to his left hand. Investigating officers also determined that his blood alcohol level was over three times the legal limit of .08. Driver Rungaitis was not injured.

En 4/16/15 en aproximadamente 1030 horas, investigators assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) were attempting to locate a wanted subject, identified as Douglas Reyvon Lovings, at his residence in the 400 block of North G Street, Oxnard. Investigators obtained information to confirm that Lovings was inside the residence. Lovings had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for armed robbery, and investigators had linked him to two additional armed robberies that occurred in Oxnard. Lovings was also on probation for a prior misdemeanor conviction.

Detectives attempted to make contact with Lovings at the front door, but Lovings fled to the rear of the residence and would not come out as requested. Due to the violent crimes Lovings was suspected of committing that involved firearms, Oxnard Police Department SWAT officers responded to the residence with assistance from Ventura Police Department SWAT.

Lovings residence was surrounded by police and numerous announcements were made for Lovings to exit the residence. Investigators also called Lovings’ on his cellphone to encourage him to follow the orders of the officers. After approximately two hours, Lovings contacted the SWAT officers at the front door of the residence and surrendered. Lovings was taken into custody without further incident.

Lovings was arrested for the outstanding felony warrant for robbery, and he was also charged with two additional crimes of armed robbery. Investigators believe Lovings is a suspect in additional robberies and will continue to investigate those crimes.

The Oxnard Police Department continues to encourage residents to be partners in public safety as part of the Operation Safer and Stronger Initiative. DETALLES:En 5/17/15 en aproximadamente 2035 horas, Oxnard police officers were dispatched to three stabbing victims in front the businesses located in the 800 bloque de West Wooley carretera, Oxnard. Officers arrived and located three stabbing victims. Two of the victims, un 16 year old Hispanic male and a 21 años de edad hombre hispano, were suffering from minor stab wounds. None of their wounds are considered life threatening. A third victim, un 18 años de edad hombre hispano, was found to be suffering from life threatening stab wounds. All three victims were transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center. La 18 year old victim was rushed into emergency surgery, where he currently remains.

The police officers searched the area and located a crime scene in the 500 bloque del Sur K Street, which is approximately half a mile from the 800 block of West Woolley Road. Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Investigators obtained information that three unknown Hispanic males were involved in the assault. Investigators are trying to identify the suspects and determine a motive for the assaults.

DETALLES:
On the 6-2-15, en 1340 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit/ Gang Enforcement Unit were conducting gang enforcement in the area of Saviers Road and Channel Islands Boulevard when they observed a gold Infiniti sedan in the area with tinted windows and a known criminal street gang member, Alejandro Ramuco, en el vehiculo. An enforcement stop was conducted.

Also in vehicle, were known criminal street gang members Raymond Suarez and Jesus Silva. Silva was found to be driving the vehicle with a suspended license (for driving under the Influence). Both Ramuco and Suarez are Post Release Offenders (PRO) on probation. During the subsequent search of the vehicle and the occupants, Ramuco was found to have a Taurus .357 Magnum handgun concealed in his waistband, y 1.3 grams of methamphetamine concealed in his pants. Officers also located open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.

Ramuco was arrested for various firearms violations, gang injunction violations, gang enhancements and a PRO hold. Suarez was arrested for several gang injunction violations, failing to register as a gang member, and a PRO hold. And, Silva was arrested for driving on a suspended license.
