En septiembre 18, 2014, en alrededor 7:07 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of Wooley Road and Novato Drive in reference to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the gray Toyota, driven by David Escamilla, was traveling eastbound on Wooley Road as the pedestrian was crossing the roadway near the intersection of Novato Drive. The Toyota struck the pedestrian causing fatal injuries.

En octubre 5, 2014, en alrededor 3:00 a.m., Oxnard police officers responded to a report of a carjacking. Officers contacted the victim and learned that he had provided a ride to the suspects whom he had just met. As the victim drove them, one of the suspects produced a weapon and demanded the victim hand over his property. After the victim complied, they had him stop and exit his vehicle. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle.

A eso de las 6:30 a.m., Ventura police officers located the victim’s vehicle in the area of Thompson Blvd and Hemlock, Ciudad de Ventura. Officers found two males standing next to the vehicle and were able to detain them. A female was also located nearby. All three were identified as the suspects involved in the carjacking and robbery. The suspects had items taken from the victim in their possession.

All three suspects were arrested and later admitted to their involvement in the incident.

En octubre 12, 2014 en aproximadamente 5:30 PM officers from the Oxnard Police Department attempted the arrest of Manuel Nava in the 4400 bloque de Terrace Avenue. Officers were aware that Nava had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.

As they approached his residence, Nava fled into the surrounding neighborhood. Nava was chased for several blocks where he was arrested without incident. A large quantity of narcotics was found on Nava during the search.

En 10-17-14, en 1916 horas, officers responded to an injury collision at “C” Street north of 4th Street. Officers learned a three-year old female had wandered away from her father and into the street. The child was struck by a pickup truck travelling north on “C” Calle. The pickup was travelling at a slow to moderate speed. The child sustained minor injuries.

Officers immediately noted that the driver of the pickup, Victor Rodriguez, displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. The subsequent investigation confirmed that Rodriguez was under the influence of alcohol. His blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.

Motorists are reminded that collisions are often preventable. Promover, that an unexpected event, such as a child running into the roadway, is best addressed by motorists whose total focus is on their driving. Finalmente, DUI drivers continue to pose a significant threat to motorists and pedestrians.

(OXNARD, California)El domingo, Octubre 19, 2014, en alrededor 8:30 p.m., a man was taken to Ventura County Medical Center after being shot at least once. He underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition. Officers were told that shots had been fired on Greenbrook Drive in the Lemonwood neighborhood of Oxnard. Police officers fanned out through the area looking for bullet casings and other information connected to the shooting. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and it’s unknown if this was gang related.

Police investigators are hoping that someone may have seen or heard something that could help authorities figure out who shot the man. El domingo, Noviembre 23, 2014, en alrededor 5:50 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of Wooley Road and ‘G’ Street in reference to an injury hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Inmediatamente después de la colisión, a witness who observed the collision called 911 to report that the vehicle involved had fled the scene.

When officers arrived at the collision scene, they found an unconscious male lying in the roadway. The unidentified pedestrian was transported from the scene to the Ventura County Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition. He sustained significant head trauma, two broken legs and extensive internal injuries as a result of the collision.

According to witnesses at the scene, two additional vehicles were observed colliding with the pedestrian just prior to the arrival of emergency responders. These two vehicles also fled the scene without rendering aid. Aproximadamente 7:00 p.m., the driver of an Acura Legend, Johnny Romero, arrived at the Oxnard Police Department to surrender himself and identify his involvement in the collision. Durante la investigación, officers located the Acura parked in the 700 block of South ‘B’ Street in the City of Oxnard. It had sustained damage consistent with the collision. Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing Wooley Road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by the Acura and the other vehicles.

Driver Romero was arrested and charged with felonious hit and run causing great bodily injury. Fue ingresado en la cárcel del condado de Ventura..

DETALLES: (OXNARD, California) – On January 9, 2015 en 4:20 a.m. horas, los oficiales respondieron a la 1300 Block of Bluebell Street, regarding a prowler. Officers learned a male suspect had entered a home through an unlocked back door. The suspect entered the bedroom belonging to a 12 year old boy. The boy was asleep in his bed when the suspect approached him and sexually assaulted him. The child alerted his parents of the intruder inside the home. The parents confronted the suspect outside of the bedroom and ordered him to leave the residence.

Upon further examination of the residence it was discovered that all the screens to the windows on the back of the residence had been cut and entry was attempted. The scene was processed for further evidence.

DETALLES:

En 1/19/15 en aproximadamente 1723 horas, Oxnard police officers responded to a stabbing victim in the 600 block of Teresa Street. La víctima, 26 year old Saul Anchando, was stabbed in the chest and transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center in grave condition. Anchando underwent emergency surgery and is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) listed in critical condition.

The suspect fled the area with the computer.

Detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the case.

En 2-15-15, en 1309 horas, officers responded to a multiple vehicle collision at Oxnard Boulevard and Vineyard Avenue. Officers found four vehicles were involved. Southbound Oxnard Boulevard and eastbound Vineyard Avenue traffic was blocked for a period of time.

One of the drivers was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A Driving while under the influence (DUI) investigation was conducted and the driver arrested. Michael Sexton, 29 año, Residente de Oxnard, was charged with felony DUI – alcohol and drugs.

Three other motorists and passengers involved in the collision sustained minor injuries and were treated at local hospitals.

The Oxnard Police Department conducts regular DUI checkpoints funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to help reduce drunk driving and related collisions. The public is reminded to immediately report suspected drunk, or otherwise impaired, conductores.

El sábado, Marzo 14, 2015, en alrededor 10:34 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to Ventura Road, between Doris Avenue and Devonshire Drive, in reference to an injury traffic collision.

When officers arrived at the collision scene, they found that a black Isuzu Rodeo had collided into a large tree located in the center median of Ventura Road. An unresponsive female was seated in the driver’s seat. Soon after medical personnel arrived, the female was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Isuzu and a blue Hyundai Accent, driven by Gerald Zarate, were traveling side by side southbound on Ventura Road from Devonshire Drive. For an unknown reason, the two vehicles collided. Following the impact between the two vehicles, the Isuzu collided with the center median and then struck the tree. Driver Zarate remained at the scene of the collision and was uninjured.
It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were factors in this collision. La colisión es todavía bajo investigación.
