DETALLES:
En 3-29-14, en alrededor 9:28 PM, officers and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of 5th Street and “K” Street regarding an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a female, was traveling southbound on”K” Street approaching 5th Street. The Dodge tow truck was traveling westbound on 5th Street. For an unknown reason, the Jeep failed to stop for the red traffic signal, entered the intersection and into the path of the Dodge tow truck, driven by Joseph Ramirez. The tow truck was not towing another vehicle at the time of the collision.
The impact of the collision caused fatal injuries to the female driver of the Jeep and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Driver Ramirez sustained minor injuries and was transproted to St. John’s Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. Both Ramirez and the female were the only occupants in the vehicles.
