INCIDENTE	Sobriety & driver’s license checkpoint

(Oxnard, California) The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit will conduct a sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint on Thursday, Febrero 16, 2012, at two undisclosed locations in the city of Oxnard. The approximate hours of operation will be from 6:00 p.m. hasta 2:00 a.m.
The checkpoint locations will be selected based upon DUI collision data, DUI arrests, and Place of Last Drink (POLD) survey data. Motorists will be greeted and given an informational brochure about impaired driving.
Checkpoints reduce the number of drinking drivers on the road and do not necessarily produce dramatic increases in arrests. The major value of checkpoints is their educational and preventative influence on the motoring public. The Oxnard Police Department conducts sobriety/driver’s license checkpoints to ensure the public’s safety and to reduce the number of alcohol-impaired drivers on the roadways in our community, as well as insuring drivers have a valid driver’s license.
Drivers found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested and their vehicles will be towed. Drivers found to be driving on a suspended or revoked license will also be arrested and their vehicles will be subject to a 30-day impound.
In accordance to Assembly Bill 353 which went into effect on January 1, 2012, conductores, whose only offense is driving without a license (never been licensed or expired), will have the opportunity to call for a licensed driver to pick their vehicle up from the checkpoint as opposed to having it towed. The registered owners will have until the end of the checkpoint to pick their vehicle up. If the registered owner cannot respond by the end of the checkpoint, the vehicle will be towed. Vehicles towed from an unlicensed driver (never been licensed or expired) will be eligible for release without being subject to a 30-day impound. This new law only applies to vehicles that have entered the checkpoint. Vehicles stopped outside of a checkpoint are subject to all sanctions permitted by law and the policy of the Oxnard Police Department.

Además del punto de control, OPD conducts DUI saturation patrols on a regular basis. Officers conducting a saturation patrol stop people who are suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. (Oxnard, California) Hoy en alrededor 9:20 a.m. Oxnard PD y Oxnard Bomberos respondieron a 621 Richmond Avenue con respecto a un paquete sospechoso. El personal de Acción Comunitaria del Condado de Ventura recibió un paquete que creían que era sospechoso en base a los contenidos.

(Oxnard, California) A eso de las 5:20 a.m. Policía de Oxnard recibió una llamada en relación con un merodeador en una residencia en la 1400 bloque de Saviers carretera. Cuando llegaron los agentes encontraron a una mujer de 25 años de edad que había sido asaltado sexualmente en su casa.

An Oxnard police officer arrived on scene and tried to contact the suspect, later identified as Octavio Salgado. (Oxnard, California) En mayo 16, 2012 en alrededor 3:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit attempted to contact Donald Reyes regarding an outstanding warrant. Reyes led officers on a three minute vehicle pursuit through Oxnard and Port Hueneme, reaching speeds of 70 MPH and violating several traffic laws.

Reyes was ultimately apprehended in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and Ventura Road, with the assistance of a Port Hueneme PD K-9 officer. Reyes was transported and treated at St. John’s Regional Medical Center for a minor complaint of pain.

Reyes was on the post release offender (PRO) programa. The PRO Program releases non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious offenders from prison under Assembly Bill 109.

Reyes is currently in custody at the Ventura County Jail for numerous charges including felony evading of a police officer.

(Oxnard, California) En julio 22, 2012 en 12:30 in the afternoon, Oficiales Oxnard PD respondieron a la 1000 block of Dunes Street regarding a suspicious male seen in the rear yard of a residence. When officers tried to contact the suspect he fled to the boat docks in the 1500 block of Twin Tides Place where he jumped into the water.

Los oficiales aprendieron el sospechoso tenía 27 años de edad, Rubén Gonzales. En 08/12/2012 en 2:00 p.m. Harold Rakowiecki estaba en casa y habló con la familia por teléfono. En 08/13/2012 en 9:25 a.m., Rakowiecki’s family called the Oxnard Police Department to report him missing. Rakowiecki is known to walk to area beaches, the Oxnard Transportation Center, and the Camarillo Airport.

Sr.. Rakowiecki is described as a white male adult, 6’ tall, 190 lbs., Pelo castaño, blue eyes, with a tattoo of a skull on one of his forearms. He was last seen wearing an unknown color shirt, gray shorts with stripes on the sides, and sandals.

En 10/13/12 en aproximadamente 10:12 pm, Oxnard police officers attempted to make a traffic stop. El conductor del vehículo no pudo inicialmente para detener a los oficiales. After a short pursuit, the driver stopped his vehicle in the 100 bloque del Norte avenida Garfield.

En 0038 horas, an Oxnard Police Department patrol officer went to stop a vehicle in the area of Hemlock Street and Ukiah Street for a traffic violation. El conductor no cedió.
