DETALLES:
A eso de las 2130 horas en 1/29/14, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked directly in front of The Home Depot. El sospechoso, Louis Rodriguez, was located in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. During the investigation he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics.

As officers were investigating the incident, a female, Gaitan, exited the store and walked to the vehicle. Officers contacted her and found her to be under the influence of a dangerous substance, and to be in possession of methamphetamine.

En febrero 7 en alrededor 2230 horas, agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard respondieron a la 5100 Block of Jefferson Square regarding 62 year old missing person Jose Magdaleno Tamayo. Officers learned that Tamayo was last seen around 1300 horas; it was believed that he was picked up and transported to a location in Oxnard for a regularly scheduled medical procedure. Tamayo has not returned home.

Officers have checked locations where Tamayo may be at but have been unable to locate him. Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Oxnard Police Communications Center at 385-7740.

En 2-10-14, en aproximadamente 2115 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the report of shots fired in the 1000 Block of West Gonzalez Road. Officers were initially unable to locate any involved persons, or evidence of a shooting.

Un corto tiempo después, a shooting victim (20 años de edad masculino) arrived at St. John’s Hospital. This victim suffered a non-life threatening wound to his leg. Officers learned this victim was shot in the area of the original call of shots fired. Officers were able to locate evidence of a shooting in the area of 1001 En. Gonzalez Road.

The suspects were believed to be in a dark colored vehicle. There was no further description about the suspects.

En 0545 horas, personnel from the Oxnard Police Department and Oxnard Fire Department responded to what was described as a “sink hole” at the intersection of Ventura Road at Hemlock Street. An approximately 20 foot by 10 foot hole filled with water was located on Ventura Road on the northeast side of the intersection. There was no damage or injuries.

Traffic will be re-routed around the damaged roadways while repairs are made. It is not known how long repairs will take.

En 3/28/14, en aproximadamente 2203 horas, an officer from the Oxnard Police Department observed a 17 year old male juvenile riding a bicycle eastbound on Bryce Canyon Av. The officer observed the subject fail to stop for a stop sign and proceeded to stop him. As he contacted the juvenile, the juvenile reached into his waistband and threw a metal object onto the lawn of a nearby apartment building. Tras realizar investigaciones adicionales, the officer located the object and found that it was a loaded .25 pistola calibre.

The juvenile was placed under arrest for carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a firearm in public, minor in possession of a firearm, and minor in possession of ammunition. He was booked into juvenile hall.

En 3-30-14, en 1509 horas, officers responded to a call of a stabbing victim and possible traffic collision in the 4500 Block of Reeder Avenue. Cuando llegaron los agentes, pusieron en contacto con la víctima, a 27-year old male and Oxnard resident. The victim had been involved in a minor traffic collision with a parked vehicle and was suffering from a single stab wound to the head. The victim was transported to VCMC where he underwent surgery. He is listed in critical, pero estable.

From a witness at the scene, officers were able to obtain a suspect description. Officers responding to the scene located the suspect nearby. He was identified as 32-year old Oxnard resident, Miguel Jimenez. Jimenez was arrested without incident. Officers determined that a fight between the suspect and victim had occurred in the parking lot near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Beaumont Avenue. After the victim was stabbed, he entered his vehicle and began to drive away from the area. He eventually lost consciousness and collided with a parked unoccupied vehicle.

DETALLES: A eso de las 12:30 pm on Tuesday 4/1/14, Oxnard Police Department officers made contact with a 20-year old male suspect who was attempting to enter Pacifica High School, where he was a former student. The suspect had no legitimate reason to be on campus.

When the suspect attempted to access the campus, he was approached by campus security, who asked for his student ID. The high school’s assigned resource officer, who was nearby, approached the subject.

During the course of the contact, the suspect was found to be in personal possession of a replica firearm (photo attached.) The subject was arrested for a violation 626.10 del Código Penal de California (possession of a replica firearm on school grounds), and was also charged with a violation of probation.

The Oxnard Police Department maintains a partnership with the Oxnard Union High School District, and assigns officers to Oxnard’s four high schools on a full-time basis.

The Oxnard Police Department again reminds the public of the danger that replica firearms can pose. They are a hazard to public safety when brandished or used in a threatening manner. Criminal charges may also apply if a replica firearm is brought onto a school campus.

En abril 25, 2014 en aproximadamente 1215 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of an interrupted residential burglary in the 1000 block of Juanita Avenue. A la llegada, officers learned that a resident had returned home from work and upon entering to his home, both subjects fled. The resident gave chase and the subjects were ultimately detained by Oxnard Police Department officers. Both subjects were found to have property belonging to the victim, and additional residents, on their person. Leonel Ortiz was booked into Ventura County Jail on charges of residential burglary. The juvenile subject was booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall on charges of residential burglary

The Independence Day Weekend Anti-DUI crackdown is reporting DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 14 Despliegues de DUI en el Condado de Ventura. A multi-agency DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint was deployed in the City of Oxnard on July 3^rd entre 6:00 p.m. y la medianoche. It was held in the southbound lanes of Rose Avenue just south of Gonzales Road. During the six hour operation, 1,354 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 1,081 of those drivers were screened for impairment and for valid driver’s licenses. Sobriety exercises were administered to four drivers of which two were arrested, one for alcohol intoxication and the other for drug impairment. Two drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license and 15 were cited for being unlicensed. Un adicional 17 citations were issued to drivers for other various violations.
