En septiembre 20, 2013, en alrededor 10:51 P.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the intersection of Hemlock Street and Capstan Drive in reference to a hit-and-run injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

El peatón, Aida Reyes, was transported to a local hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for her injuries. The Oxnard Police Department was informed this morning that Reyes died as a result of the injuries she sustained during the collision.

The Oxnard Police Traffic Unit is actively investigating this collision.

DETALLES:

En 9/23/2013, en aproximadamente 4:40 AM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were stopped in the area of Seventh Street and Ventura Road when they heard several gunshots coming from a nearby neighborhood. Officers responded to the area of the 1300 block of Hull Place to investigate.

Officers observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. Los ocupantes del vehículo, two juveniles, 15 y 16 años de edad, fled from the vehicle and were arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle the juveniles were driving, a Mitsubishi Galant, was stolen but had not been reported. Officers also located a loaded semi-automatic handgun inside of the vehicle. Both Juveniles were charged with auto theft, conspiracy and weapons violations. They were lodged into Juvenile Hall.

No one was injured during this event and officers were unable to locate any damage related to the gunshots being fired.

En 1116 horas, officers responded to Masters Donuts located at 440 S. Ventura Road after receiving a call of a robbery to the business. Officers learned a male in his 20s, 5-11, 195 libras, wearing a black “hoodie” and grey shorts, attempted to rob the business by using a handgun.

An employee said that the suspect approached the counter and showed her a handgun. He demanded money but fled without any cash or property. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect was last seen running northbound from the area.

En 10-08-13, en 1129 horas, Officers attempted a traffic stop on a grey 90’s Honda Accord at Statham Blvd and Oxnard Boulevard for a traffic violation. The vehicle fled and a brief vehicle pursuit began. The officer discontinued the pursuit due to public safety reasons. Responding officers observed the vehicle in the 3100 block of Albany Drive which continued to drive erratically. The officers continued to follow the vehicle from a safe distance until the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot in the 3400 block of Frankfurt Court.

A perimeter was set up and both occupants were taken into custody after a brief search. DETALLES: En 12/3/13, en aproximadamente 1123 horas, an officer from the Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Alfred Acevedo, was driving without a valid driver’s license. As the contact with Acevedo continued, a loaded handgun was found concealed on his person.

Acevedo was arrested without incident and charged with possession of a loaded, concealed and unregistered firearm. Más tarde fue trasladado a la Cárcel del Condado de Ventura.

En diciembre 19, 2013 en alrededor 0808 hours officers of the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a stabbing victim in the area of Briana Circle and Entrada Drive. Officers learned that 3 juveniles were walking in the area of Briana Circle and Entrada Drive when they were approached by 4 males driving in a dark green or black 3 series BMW. An altercation took place between the two groups and one subject received a single, non-life threatening, stab wound.

La 4 suspects were last seen leaving in the BMW southbound on Entrada Drive from Briana Circle.

DETALLES: Detectives from the Oxnard Police Department made an arrest today in the murder of Alfonso Mina. On the night of September 25^ª, 2013 Mina was stabbed while at his home in the 2400 block of Alvarado Street in Oxnard. This was a brazen crime in which there appeared to be no clear motive for the crime.

Después de una larga investigación., detectives were able to piece together evidence which led to today’s arrest. The suspect in the murder is Nicholas Delgado a 24 year old resident of Camarillo. Delgado has been in custody at the Ventura County Jail since late September on charges of burglary unrelated to the murder. Detectives believe Delgado acted alone during the homicide. No further details will be released at this time because this is still an active investigation.

A eso de las 2025 horas en 1/14/14, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of a carjacking in the 2500 Bloque de Vineyard Avenue. Una vez en escena, officers learned that the victim was seated in his vehicle (Blue ’97 Volvo 4Dr, 6RQS103), when he was confronted by the suspect (see description above). The suspect indicated he had a handgun and wanted the vehicle. The suspect eventually took control of the vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction, possibly towards Thousand Oaks.

A eso de las 2130 horas en 1/29/14, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked directly in front of The Home Depot. El sospechoso, Louis Rodriguez, was located in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. During the investigation he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics.

As officers were investigating the incident, a female, Gaitan, exited the store and walked to the vehicle. Officers contacted her and found her to be under the influence of a dangerous substance, and to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Rodriguez is currently in the Post Release Offender Program, creado por Bill Bill 109 - el 2011 Realineamiento de la seguridad pública, que entró en vigencia en octubre 1, 2011. En febrero 7 en alrededor 2230 horas, agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard respondieron a la 5100 Block of Jefferson Square regarding 62 year old missing person Jose Magdaleno Tamayo. Officers learned that Tamayo was last seen around 1300 horas; it was believed that he was picked up and transported to a location in Oxnard for a regularly scheduled medical procedure. Tamayo has not returned home.

Officers have checked locations where Tamayo may be at but have been unable to locate him. Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Oxnard Police Communications Center at 385-7740.
