DETALLES: En julio 10, 2015 the VadBunker family reported that their daughter, 39 year-old Dawn VadBunker, was missing and the last time they had seen or heard from her was about a week prior to the report.

This morning her vehicle was located by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Department in Oregon outside of a local motel. The Sheriff’s Deputy contacted Dawn, verified her well-being and had her speak to the Oxnard Police Department over the phone. She expressed her deep regret for all the worry she caused but assured law enforcement personnel in Oregon and Oxnard that she would be in contact with her family soon.

DETALLES: (OXNARD, California) – The Oxnard Police, Fuego, and Housing Departments along with residents and partners are joining forces to bring a series of National Night Out (– Los Departamentos de Policía y Bomberos de Oxnard y el Consejo Vecinal de Via Marina se están asociando para traer National Night Out) events to Oxnard, próximo Martes, Agosto 4, 2015.

Public safety and crime prevention will be the cornerstone of each event. “More than anything, the events planned for next week are an opportunity for community members and neighbors to come out, meet one another, and meet the District Teams as well as other city staff,” said Oxnard Police and Acting Fire Chief Jeri Williams.

En todo, these events will once again show the breadth, depth, and diversity of our community – each event different. National Night Out is designed to: (1) heighten crime prevention awareness, (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, (3) strengthen neighborhood engagement and police-community partnerships, y (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that community members are organized and vigilant.

“We challenged ourselves again this year to engage a growing number of community members and neighborhoods – with new neighborhoods and partners organizing events all promoting public safety.” said Miguel Lopez, Oxnard Police Community Affairs Manager. “With the support of community leaders, community organizations, and city staff, we are supporting twice as many programs and activities this year,” added Lopez.

“We have a day full of activities planned, starting early in the morning and going until night – we have planned events engaging youth, familias, and seniors all promoting public safety, the need for increased civic engagement, and the importance of steps we can all take to improve crime prevention in our homes and in our community,” added Chief Williams.

Events throughout Oxnard will bring the District Teams who patrol and serve each District who focus on crime, traffic safety, and quality of life issues at the neighborhood level. Also participating in the event is the Oxnard Fire Department who will be sharing risk reduction and fire prevention strategies. Oxnard Firefighters will also be raffling free child car seats that they will install as well as bike helmets for youth – all promoting public safety.

“National Night Out events offer a great opportunity to get acquainted with neighbors. I encourage residents to come out to one of our events and get to know new neighbors, city leadership and staff, and help continue to build a safer and stronger community,” said Oxnard City Manager Greg Nyhoff.

NNO is a national effort of cities, law enforcement agencies, crime prevention organizations, community groups and neighborhoods.

En 10/26/15 en aproximadamente 12:55 a.m., three males were seen removing the hood of a parked vehicle in the 2300 block of Oneida Place. Patrol officers were already in the area and were able to detain all three subjects as they attempted to walk off with the hood of the vehicle. The suspects were identified as 20 year-old Jesus Zamora, 19 year-old Erik Parra and 20 year-old Luis Giovanni Gonzalez, todos los residentes de Oxnard. The suspects were arrested for felony vehicle tampering.

En noviembre 7, 2015, en alrededor 0010 horas, Oxnard Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 400 block of North “G” St. Officers responded to the scene and located several victims. During the investigation it was learned that the victims were shot at by the suspect in the west alley of North “G” St. The suspect was seen jumping fences in the 400 block of North “H” St prior to officers’ arrival. Officers set up a perimeter around the area. Oxnard Police Department SWAT and Detectives responded to the scene.

Oxnard Police searched several locations on North “H” St. Officers located the suspect, David Cabanas, hiding in a residence on North “H” St. Cabanas was taken into custody without incident. Cabanas is a documented Colonia Chiques gang member.

En noviembre 12, 2015 en aproximadamente 1545 horas, officers from the Special Enforcement Unit were conducting gang enforcement in the downtown area of the city. The officers conducted a vehicle traffic stop in the area of First and “C” St. During the traffic stop they contacted Efren Salomon and Melissa Huff. Huff is currently on probation for narcotic related offenses and Salomon is a Post Release Offender (PRO) with weapon terms. Salomon is also a documented gang member.

SEU and PRO officers conducted a follow-up probation search at Salomon’s residence. During the search a loaded semi-automatic pistol was located.

Salomon was arrested for firearm and probation related charges. Huff was arrested for narcotic related charges.

The Post Release Offender program was created by Assembly Bill 109 - el 2011 Realineación de la seguridad pública- which was effective October 1, 2011. This program mandates individuals sentenced to non-violent, non-serious or non-sex offenses will serve their sentences in county jails instead of state prison. DETALLES: En diciembre 1, 2015 en aproximadamente 2250 horas, Oficiales de la Policía de Oxnard respondieron a la 100 block of East Rio Lindo Street reference a possible shooting victim. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center. Desafortunadamente, the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Detectives responded to the scene to investigate the homicide. Durante el curso de la investigación, the suspect was identified as 20 year old Antonio Carbajal of Oxnard. Carbajal was located and arrested for homicide.

This is Oxnard’s twelfth homicide of the year.

The Eighth Annual Santa to the Sea Half Marathon is scheduled for this Sunday morning, Diciembre 13^ª. El sábado, Diciembre 19, 2015, entre las horas de 8:00 p.m. y 2:30 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted two DUI/Driver’s license checkpoints in the City of Oxnard. The first checkpoint was conducted in the westbound lanes of Gonzales Road west of Snow Avenue. The second checkpoint was conducted in the southbound lane of Hobson Way south of Seventh Street. These locations were chosen to provide increased DUI deterrence and in response to recent alcohol related arrests and/or DUI collisions.

The checkpoints resulted in the following:

914 vehicles through

The driver arrested for drug impairment, un 20 años de edad,, was arrested from the checkpoint on Gonzales Road after he traveled in reverse in attempt to avoid entering the checkpoint. La 41 year-old female was arrested for DUI alcohol at the checkpoint on Hobson Way after she made an unlawful U-turn at the entrance to the checkpoint. Her blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit of .08.

DETALLES: En febrero 19, 2016 en aproximadamente 1600 hours Willie Asuncion walked away from his home in the 1000 block of Beverly Drive in the city of Oxnard. Sr.. Asuncion has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and recently suffered a stroke which makes it difficult to understand him. The Oxnard Police Department is enlisting the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Asuncion. Anyone with information as to Mr. Asuncion’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Oxnard Police Department Dispatch Center.

DETALLES:

En 12/20/2009 en alrededor 0244 horas, the victim was sitting on his front porch when a black compact vehicle parked in front of his residence. Dos hombres hispanos y una mujer hispana comenzaron a beber el alcohol y el humo de la marihuana. La víctima se enfrentó a los sujetos para beber y fumar en frente de su residencia.

Dos hombres hispanos salieron del vehículo y se enfrentaron a la víctima. Asaltaron a la víctima con botellas de cerveza y postes de madera de una valla de cerca. Los sospechosos fueron espantados como la esposa de la víctima salió corriendo y gritó que había llamado a la policía.

La víctima fue transportada al St. Centro Médico Regional de Juan para el tratamiento donde permanece en estado crítico con heridas graves en la cabeza.
