En noviembre 26, 2011, Oxnard Police officers responded to a call regarding a deceased male in the area of Fifth Street and Harbor Boulevard in Oxnard. An autopsy of the victim, John Henry, was conducted by the Ventura County Medical Examiners Officer and his death was ruled a homicide.

RAD is not a martial arts program. Courses are taught by nationally-certified RAD instructors and provide each student with a workbook/reference manual. En enero 20, 2012 un hombre informó a la Policía de Oxnard que él fue víctima de un robo de allanamiento de morada. The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on January 28, 2012 in Oxnard between the hours of 7:00 p.m. y 3:00 a.m. DUI checkpoints are a proven enforcement tool effective in reducing the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes. Research shows that crashes involving alcohol drop by an average of 20 percent when well-publicized checkpoints are conducted often enough.
Officers will be contacting drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Officers will also check for proper licensing and will strive to delay motorists only momentarily. En 7:10 a.m., missing person, Myron Selwyn, was located at the shopping center in the area of Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road. Selwyn was not injured or in distress. He was taken back to his residence and where he is being cared for by staff at the facility.

The Oxnard Police Department is currently conducting a search for a critical missing 80 year old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. En 2:35 a.m., the man was reported missing from a care home in the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Drive. The man is Myron Selwyn. He is described as a white male, 6’3’ 180 libras, with grey hair, y ojos marrones. He is wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and jeans, but no jacket. It is not known if Selwyn is wearing any shoes.
The Oxnard PD is particularly concerned for the Selwyn’s well being because of his level of dementia, and the fact that he is not properly dressed for the cold weather conditions.
If anyone locates Selwyn, they are asked to call 911 inmediatamente.

(Oxnard, California) El lunes, Abril 23, 2012 en alrededor 7:45 p.m. Oficiales Oxnard PD respondieron a la intersección de Cesar Chavez Drive y la Avenida Rose en Oxnard. Un joven de 16 años de edad, residente de Oxnard hombre fue golpeado mientras conducía su bicicleta en el paso de peatones al norte de la intersección.

En mayo 11, 2012, en alrededor 8:40 p.m., Oficiales Oxnard PD fueron enviados a un robo a mano armada que se produjo en el Gold & Emporium Joyería ubicada en 714 Norte Ventura carretera. (Oxnard, California) The Oxnard Police Department and Ventura County District Attorney’s Office jointly announced today that the Superior Court approved their petition to remove 81 named individuals from the city’s two gang injunction lists. The individuals were removed from the gang injunction restrictions because they are no longer believed to be active gang members. This assessment was made by gang detectives from the Oxnard Police Department, and the petition and hearing was facilitated by the District Attorney’s Office.
Oxnard’s gang injunctions were issued in 2005 y 2006 in an effort to address a high number of crimes committed by gang members in Oxnard. Oxnard’s gang injunctions apply to two gangs – the Colonia Chiques and Southside Chiques. Desde 1992, the Colonia Chiques gang is believed to be responsible for more than 2,000 crimes in Oxnard. The Southside Chiques are believed to be responsible for more than 1,000 crimes in Oxnard in recent years.
Gang injunctions are civil lawsuits against street gangs authorized by law because the behavior of these individuals creates a public nuisance that harms the ability of community members to enjoy a peaceful quality of life. Injunctions apply to specific geographic areas called “safety zones” and to only those documented gang members who have been served with copies of the injunction. The safety zones were designated based upon the areas of criminal activity by each gang.
Injunctions seek to improve the quality of life of residents and workers in the safety zones, reduce gang crime, and encourage gang members to change their lifestyle and behavior while, at the same time, deterring our youth from joining a gang in the first place. Injunctions also enhance the ability of law enforcement to re-allocate resources to focus on other crime trends and issues.
The Oxnard Police Department and Ventura County District Attorney filed a motion with the court to dismiss 81 individuals from the two injunctions who are not presently viewed as active gang members. The motion was granted on June 29, 2012, and the affected individuals will be notified. In the event that any of these individuals become involved in criminal activity in the future, police officers may re-serve them with the injunction. Existen 276 active gang members who remain on the Colonia injunction and 66 on the Southside injunction. The Oxnard Police Department intends to conduct periodic reviews of its lists of enjoined persons.
