DETALLES:Narcotic investigators from the West County Street Team concluded their investigation into the selling of Methamphetamine at a home in the area of the 200 Blk. of Collins St. Investigators had received several anonymous complaints about the location.

Investigators observed the primary suspect, Richard Portanova, walking from the home and attempted to contact him reference a search warrant. Portanova spotted the officers and began running from the scene and into a local convenience store. Portanova was contacted in the store and found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Investigators followed up with a service of a search warrant at his residence and located an additional amount of Methamphetamine.

Mientras que en la residencia, Detectives contacted several other subjects. They arrested four of the subjects for various narcotic violations. Investigators were able to add the charge of maintaining a residence to allow narcotic activity to the homeowner and primary suspect Portanova.

Portanova was booked for possession for sales and transportation of Methamphetamine as well as maintaining a residence for narcotic activity and resisting and delaying an officer. All other suspects were booked for various narcotic violations at our facility and later transported to the Ventura County Jail Facility.

The West County Street Team is made up of Sheriff’s Office, Santa Paula Police Department, and the Oxnard Police Department narcotics detectives working cooperatively in the investigation of narcotics offenses occurring in the western portion of Ventura County.

DETALLES:

Members of the Oxnard Police Department observed a stolen Toyota Camry in the area of Cooper Road and Grant Avenue. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle failed to yield. Officers pursued the vehicle, at which time the suspect backed into a police vehicle causing minor damage to the police vehicle.

The pursuit was terminated due to unsafe speeds in the area of Rice Avenue and Channel Islands Blvd. The stolen vehicle was located unoccupied in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Fifth Street. A search of the area with the assistance of the Ventura County Sheriff Department Air Unit and K9 Unit was conducted with negative results of locating the suspect.

The Oxnard Police Department has formed an Auto Theft Task Force to address stolen vehicle issues within the City of Oxnard. The Oxnard Police Department advises citizens to park their vehicles in well-lit areas, lock their vehicles and use anti-theft devices to secure their vehicles.

DETALLES: The Oxnard Police Department is excited to announce its first Start Smart teenage driver safety class. Oxnard’s Start Smart program is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and developed in partnership with the California Highway Patrol.

The Start Smart program provides focused traffic safety information for new and future teen drivers and their parents and/or guardians. The course offers interactive and innovative lecture including discussions on traffic laws, defensive driving, common collision factors, collision avoidance tips, DUI awareness and making the appropriate decisions before and while driving a motor vehicle. The educational program aims to reduce the number of injuries and deaths among teenagers as a result of traffic collisions. Traffic collisions are the leading cause of death for people aged 15-20.

En mayo 16, 2015 en aproximadamente 6:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to check the well-being of the resident in the 1000 block of Inlet Drive. When officers arrived they located a male subject inside the residence unresponsive. Fire and EMS arrived to provide aid to the victim but unfortunately he was deceased.

La víctima era una 59 residente de Oxnard años de edad. His name is being withheld until his family is notified. After investigators interviewed several witnesses they were able to identify Maynard Lee Allen, un 53 residente de Oxnard años de edad, as a person of interest. Allen was contacted a short distance from the crime scene. Allen was transported to the Oxnard Police Department and later arrested for murder. He was booked at the Ventura County Jail. Because this is an active investigation, investigators are unable to provide a motive for the attack or the cause of death. Investigators are confident that this wasn’t a random act because the victim and suspect knew each other. This is Oxnard’s sixth homicide of the year. DETALLES: En 05/17/2015, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a burglary to a closed business in the 200 block of Del Norte Boulevard. The suspect forced entry into the business and stole California Lottery Tickets and cash, valued at $2630.

Durante la investigación, detectives learned that some of the lottery tickets have been cashed. Photos of the suspect that committed the burglary and cashed the lottery tickets are attached.

En junio 23, 2015, en 3:30pm, officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit/ Gang Unit observed a black 2001 Honda Accord driving in the area of ‘C’ St. and Doris Avenue, en la Ciudad de Oxnard. Officers observed the vehicle make a traffic violation and stopped the vehicle in the 200 bloque de Doris Avenida. During the traffic stop officers learned that the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the day from an address in Oxnard. The three occupants of the vehicle, all of which are residents of Oxnard, were detained. El conductor del vehículo, Raynah Lara, 20 años de edad, fue detenido por la posesión de un vehículo robado. Lara was also in possession of a small amount of heroin and several hypodermic needles. Barron also had a large amount of cash. Barron was arrested for numerous narcotics violations including possession for sales and transportation for sales and a Felony warrant for his arrest. Barron is also a member of a local street gang.

En agosto 5, 2015, en aproximadamente 1230 horas, a concerned citizen noticed suspicious activity in the parking lot of Shopping at the Rose and called the Oxnard Police Department. Patrol Officers quickly responded and found two people inside the described vehicle, un rojo 1997 Ford pickup truck. One of the suspects, Rory Reaume, 28 year-old transient, was in the act of smoking an illegal drug. Both Reaume and the other suspect, Ainsley Van Doren, 25 year-old transient, lied about their names to avoid arrest for their outstanding arrest warrants. By using a portable fingerprint identification device, the officers were able to identify Reaume and Van Doren in the field and arrest them.

Van Doren was arrested for five outstanding arrest warrants for crimes including burglary, gran robo, and fraud. Reaume was arrested for providing a false name to the officers, possession of narcotics and paraphernalia, as well as five outstanding arrest warrants for past fraud and forgery charges.

Reaume was already a suspect in several incidents of passing counterfeit US Currency at several Oxnard retail businesses since June 2015. Patrol Officers found suspected counterfeit currency in the possession of Reaume. Oxnard Detectives and US Secret Service Agents arrived and confirmed that the money was indeed counterfeit. Inside the suspects’ vehicle additional counterfeit currency and evidence of production of counterfeit currency was found. The investigation of the counterfeit currency is ongoing, and any possible victims are encouraged to contact Detective Escalante.

DETALLES: En febrero 17, 2014 en alrededor 1838 horas, los oficiales respondieron a la 2000 Block of Mariposa Street regarding a call of shots fired. When officers arrived they located two male shooting victims. un tema, un 18 year old male was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition. A second male subject was also located with a gunshot wound; despite emergency responders’ efforts to save the subject, he died as a result of his injuries. The decedent was identified as 24 year old Joshua Van.

Investigators tirelessly worked on the case and identified Alejandro Morales, un 31 residente de Oxnard años de edad, as being involved in Van’s murder. DETALLES:

En 8-24-15 en 5:18 P.M. a domestic disturbance occurred on the sidewalk at C Street and 8^ª Street involving Luis Arroyo and an adult female (Nombre omitido). During the disturbance Arroyo is alleged to have physically assaulted the victim to include the display and firing of a handgun.

Two Oxnard officers arrived as the incident was unfolding and witnessed Arroyo in possession of the handgun. Arroyo ran from the officers while holding the handgun, but he dropped it during the chase. The handgun was quickly recovered by responding officers and Arroyo was captured in the rear yard of a nearby apartment building.

The female victim was not injured during the incident. Arroyo was charged with numerous crimes related to domestic violence, amenazas criminales, weapons possession and recklessly discharging a firearm.

El domingo, September 13th, 2015, La independencia de México de España se celebrará durante el desfile de Fiestas Patrias anual que se celebra en el centro de Oxnard. Encima 80 Se espera que las entradas para participar en el desfile de este año. El desfile está programado para comenzar en 12:00 p.m. y se espera que termine en aproximadamente 3:00 p.m.
