DETALLES:
En mayo 2, 2013, en alrededor 9:21 P.M., Sergeant Jack Kujawa was responded to an emergency call with the lights and siren activated on his police unit. He was traveling westbound on Wooley Road. As Kujawa neared the intersection of Wooley Road and C Street, he slowed for a red traffic signal and proceeded through when the intersection appeared clear. As he drove through the intersection, a Chevy Camaro, driven by Daniel Ramos, failed to yield to Kujawa’s police unit. The Camaro then broadsided the police unit. The Camaro had been traveling southbound on C Street prior to the collision.

Sergeant Kujawa was transported to St. John’s Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Sr.. Ramos refused medical treatment.

DETALLES:
En junio 1, 2013, en alrededor 4:20 P.M., officers and EMS responded to an injury traffic collision involving two pick-up trucks at the intersection of Ventura Road and Hill Street. A la llegada, officers found that a blue Chevy pick-up truck had collided with a tan Chevy Silverado and then struck a light pole. Officers also found an unconscious male in the blue Chevy.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the blue Chevy truck, driven by Ronald Finch, was traveling southbound on Ventura Road towards Hill Street. The tan Chevy Silverado, driven by Alvaro Diego Juarez, was stopped in the left turn lane of southbound Ventura Road at Hill Street. Witnesses stated that the blue Chevy quickly veered to the left just before Hill Street, striking the rear of the Silverado. The blue Chevy continued forward and collided into a light pole.

Driver Finch was transported for further treatment and is currently listed in critical condition. Driver Juarez and his passengers, Janet Olguin (24 año) and Luis Diego (22 año), were also transported and are currently listed in stable condition.

A witness advised police personnel that the blue Chevy had collided into a traffic control box at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Wooley Road several minutes before colliding with the Silverado.

It is suspected that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

En 6/11/2013, en alrededor 10:40 al, Oxnard Police Department officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting victim in the 1500 block of Crawford St, Ciudad de Oxnard. Officers arrived and located a single shooting victim with a gunshot wound to his arm. The victim was immediately transported to the local hospital where the victim was treated for his non-life-threatening wounds.

During the course of the investigation Andres Rene Rodriguez, a 29-year old Oxnard resident, fue identificado como el sospechoso. Rodriguez was released from custody in April of 2013 under the Post Release Offender Program, a program which releases non-violent, and non-serious offenders from prison pursuant to Assembly Bill 109. Rodriguez is currently at large and has multiple felony warrants for his arrest. Rodriguez should be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS. If Rodriguez is observed, please do not attempt to contact him and call police immediately.

En 8/24/13, en aproximadamente 4:30 AM, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the area of Kipling Place and Terrace Ave reference suspicious subjects possibly casing for burglaries in the area. Officers located three suspects who were in the process of burglarizing a vehicle. All three suspects were taken into custody without incident and were arrested for vehicle burglary and conspiracy. Albert Torres was also found to be in possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Please make sure to lock your vehicles and remove the keys.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 Block of West Date Street regarding a missing person. Luis Gonzalez Martinez, 61 año, Residente de Oxnard, was last seen by his family members at 1100 horas. Family members indicated Martinez was upset at that time. He has not been seen since.

Officers are searching for Martinez and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

Martinez was last seen wearing a white Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap, un rojo, white, and blue American flag bandana, a blue Dodger’s jacket, and dark jeans. Martinez has fresh stitches over one eye. Martinez also uses a black walker.

Sergeants Charles Woodruff and Daniel Shrubb of the Oxnard Police Department took these statistics to heart. They started the Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti (Dragg) youth mentoring program. It is a unique non-profit after school program for young people ages 16 a 18 that has heads turning and has caught the eye and interest of the next generation of automotive consumers. DRAGG’s objective is to provide the next generation with a positive learning environment while introducing them to career opportunities in the automotive industry, driver safety, leadership skills and the value of customer service. Program participants also receive high school credit for program participation.

They began with a car, un 2006 Mustang GT energized with a V-2 Vortech Supercharger, Borla exhaust and a head turning police package compete with lights and siren. DETALLES: En 11/13/13 en aproximadamente 1400 horas, Oxnard police officers were patrolling the 1100 block of North F Street. The officers made contact with several juveniles in Eastwood Park. En 1/15/14, at about 2318hrs, Oxnard Police Officer Mike Gens was conducting traffic enforcement on Channel Islands Boulevard in Oxnard. He stopped and detained a vehicle for speeding and contacted both occupants. El pasajero, Angel Barden, had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was arrested.

Following the arrest, and exercising Barden’s probation terms allowing the vehicle to be searched, a loaded firearm was found under the passenger seat where Barden had been seated. Barden was searched and about two and a half grams of methamphetamine was found in his pocket.

The rest of the vehicle was searched and about nine ounces of marijuana was found in the trunk, along with packaging and a scale.

Angel Garcia, el conductor, was arrested for transportation and possession of marijuana for sale. Barden, el pasajero, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a loaded firearm. Ambos fueron reservados en la cárcel del condado de Ventura.

DETALLES:
En enero 25, 2014, en alrededor 4:57 P.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to intersection of Ventura Road and Ivywood Drive in reference to an injury traffic collision involving a single vehicle.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a Ford Expedition, driven by David Jonathan Faalevao, was traveling southbound on Ventura Road and stopped for the red light in the left turn pocket at Ivywood Drive. According to witnesses and for an unknown reason, the vehicle started to slowly drift into the intersection and veer to the left while the traffic signal was still red. The vehicle then suddenly accelerated rapidly southbound on Ventura Road in the northbound lanes. After traveling a few hundred feet, the Expedition collided with a large tree and hedges that line the frontage road of Ventura Road from the northbound lanes. The collision caused the vehicle to flip onto its right side. Faalevao was the only occupant in the Expedition and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Firefighters from the Oxnard Fire Department arrived on scene and extricated Faalevao from the vehicle. Faalevao suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
