(Oxnard, California)– Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Investigators have made an arrest in the murder of 25 year old Angel Diaz. Aaron Jabezz Holmes, un 20 residente de Oxnard años de edad, was arrested earlier today by officers from the Special Enforcement Unit (SU).

The murder of Angel Diaz occurred on April 30, 2015 en aproximadamente 2:30 a.m., en 4811 Avenue South Rose. Police officers were dispatched to a “shots fired” call with a vehicle collision into a building. Major Crimes Investigators were summoned to the crime scene and assumed the investigation. Major Crimes Investigators and Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) worked diligently and tirelessly to locate the suspect or suspects responsible for the death of Angel Diaz.

DETALLES: En agosto 19, 2016 en alrededor 1600 horas, officers responded to a call of domestic violence that occurred in the 400 block of South “C” Street. After contacting the victim and confirming that a crime had been committed, the officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of King Street in the city of Oxnard. Officers contacted the residents who informed the officers that the suspect, Ivan Lopez, had locked himself in the laundry room of the residence. Officers entered the laundry room and found that it appeared that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival. Prior to exiting the laundry room officers decided to check one last location for the suspect. Upon opening the door to the front loading dryer, officers located the suspect hiding within the dryer. The subject was compliant and removed himself from the dryer and was then taken into custody without incident.

Lopez was arrested for felony domestic violence, and resisting/delaying/obstructing the duties of a police officer.

En abril 08, 2016, en aproximadamente 9:44 p.m., officers from the District Four Community Policing Team were conducting directed patrol of the businesses in the area of the 3000 bloque de Saviers carretera.

Officers located a subject, later identified as Jose Luis Gomez Sandoval, who was in possession of an open container. When officers contacted Sandoval they discovered that he was in possession of a loaded handgun and illegal narcotics. Sandoval was arrested without incident and later booked into the Ventura County Jail.

DETALLES:: En abril 18, 2016, Detectives from the Oxnard Police Department’s Firearms Strike Team in conjunction with agents from the Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms conducted several compliance checks throughout the City of Oxnard. The compliance checks focused on persons who are prohibited from owning firearm(s) and have a firearm(s) registered to them. During the sweep detectives made one arrest for possession of nine firearms and one-thousand rounds of ammunition. Total, the detectives recovered 10 armas de fuego.

The Oxnard Police Department will continue to conduct compliance checks with prohibited persons and subjects on probation or parole living in the City of Oxnard. The Oxnard Police Department is committed to working with the Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms in our efforts. The purpose of these checks is to remove dangerous firearms from prohibited persons in an effort to reduce gun violence throughout the city.

En abril 21, 2016 en aproximadamente 1020 horas, a detective assigned to the Oxnard Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force located an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of Doris Avenue and F Street in the city of Oxnard. The detective observed a female identified as Crystal Dimas driving the stolen 1998 Nissan 200 SX. That vehicle had been reported stolen to the Oxnard Police Department hours earlier. Additional police officers arrived in the area and conducted a high risk stop on the vehicle. Dimas and a female passenger, named Samara Eaves, were taken into custody without incident.

Dimas was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Eaves was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and other fraud related charges.

The Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force is asking the residents of Oxnard to assist in preventing auto theft by never leaving your keys in your vehicle.

DETALLES: En mayo 17, 2016 en 11:45 a.m., detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Property Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Oxnard Fire Department Investigators, completed a two-month long investigation that resulted in the arrest of 27 residente de Oxnard años de edad, Krystal Rae Rodriguez.

En marzo de 17, 2016 en aproximadamente 1:40 a.m., the Oxnard Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 5000 block of San Juan Ave. Fire Department personnel discovered a travel trailer heavily engulfed with fire. After extinguishing the fire, investigators determined the cause of the fire to be Arson.

After executing a number of search warrants and obtaining additional evidence, Oxnard Police and Fire Investigators identified Krystal Rae Rodriguez as the person who intentionally set fire to the structure. The travel trailer, or mobile home, was currently being used as a primary residence which caused its occupant(s) to be relocated from this devastating loss of home and personal property.

Rodriguez was booked for Arson of an Inhabited Dwelling and other narcotics related charges. The total loss due to the Arson is estimated to be approximately $5,000.00.

En mayo 22, 2016 en aproximadamente 1700 hours officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (SU) were working uniformed gang enforcement in the area of First St. and Juanita Ave. SEU officers attempted to contact Jonathan Espinoza (19 año) who immediately fled. Espinoza was detained after a short chase during which he had discarded a loaded semi-automatic handgun. During further investigation the handgun was found to have been reported stolen in 2011.

Espinoza was arrested for several firearm related violations.

Espinoza is associated with a known criminal street gang.

The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit is committed to reducing gang crimes and violence in the City of Oxnard through the strict enforcement of laws specifically targeting known, active gang members in the city. El domingo, Mayo 29, 2016, entre 10:00 a.m. y 2:00 p.m., the Oxnard Police Department conducted a Motorcycle safety enforcement operation throughout the city limits. Durante la operacion, officers issued 9 citations for various motorcycle violations, 25 citations for various vehicle violations. One vehicle was towed as the driver was found to be driving on a suspended license.

The Oxnard Police Department wants to make everyone aware of the precautions that can be taken to reduce the number and severity of collisions involving motorcyclists. Motorcyclists are reminded to use proper lanes positioning, match your speed to traffic around you, and to wear an approved DOT helmet. Drivers are reminded to look twice for motorcyclists when turning or entering the roadway.

The Oxnard Police Department will continue to conduct these types of enforcement operations this year to make our roadways and community safer. These operations are funded by grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) ya través de la Administración Nacional de Seguridad Vial.

En junio 3, 2016 en aproximadamente 2000 horas, officers from the Oxnard Police contacted Daniel Matos inside of Beck Park reference possessing and drinking an alcoholic beverage. Matos was subsequently arrested for possessing an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Officers searched Matos’ backpack that he was carrying and a loaded semi-automatic handgun was found inside. Matos was additionally arrested for a felon in possession of a firearm.

En junio 7, 2016, Officers conducted a probation search at a home in the 800 block of West Iris Street for Fabian Ramirez. Ramirez is a convicted felon, who is on probation and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. Durante la búsqueda, Ramirez was found to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.
