DETALLES: (Oxnard, California) - A man found unresponsive in a north Oxnard alley died as a result of a homicide.

En octubre 15, 2017, en aproximadamente 2:56 a.m., Oxnard police officers responded to a call of gunshots heard in the 1300 block of Azalea Street. When the police officers arrived on scene they searched the area and found an unresponsive 27-year old Hispanic male in the south alley. EMS arrived on scene and declared the male deceased.

The Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene to lead the investigation. Police officers and detectives located evidence of a shooting at the scene. sin embargo, a preliminary examination of the deceased male at the scene found no indication he was the victim of an assault.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death was scheduled for this morning. The autopsy confirmed that the male died as a result of a gunshot wound. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

This is Oxnard’s 14th homicide of the year.

DETALLES: (Oxnard, California) - Two shootings in Oxnard left one person with a non-life threatening injury, and no victims were reported or located in another reported shooting incident.

The first incident occurred on October 14, 2017, en aproximadamente 9:25 p.m. at the Arco gas station, situado en 2850 Avenue South Rose. According to information obtained by police, a 20-year old Hispanic male was standing near the gas pumps when he was confronted by an unknown person. Several 9-1-1 calls were received from residents who heard numerous gunshots in their neighborhood. Police officers arrived at the scene and searched the area looking for any victims. DETALLES: (Oxnard, California) - The Oxnard Police Department is investigating the death of a man found unresponsive in an alley in north Oxnard.

The Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit arrived at the scene. Major Crimes detectives, along with a representative from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, conducted a preliminary examination of the deceased person at the scene but were unable to locate any significant injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Further information will be released at the conclusion of the autopsy.

En 10/13/2017 en 6:15 Soy un residente alerta que vio un vehículo sospechoso en N Street cerca de Ventura Road. El vehículo conducía lentamente y se detenía intermitentemente junto a vehículos estacionados.. Un ocupante apareció para salir y revisar los vehículos estacionados..

Officers responded to the area and located a black Lexus with Florida license plates. As soon as officers were visible, the vehicle sped away quickly, northbound on N Street. After a short distance, the vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked car at the intersection with Doris Street. The suspect vehicle became disabled in the intersection and was abandoned. Officers gave chase on foot and took Michael Gomez into custody in the 400 block of North N Street.

The suspect vehicle was determined to be an unreported stolen vehicle from Oxnard and inside were burglary tools as well as suspected stolen property.

Gomez was booked at Ventura County Jail for the stolen vehicle, fleeing the scene of an accident, and resisting a peace officer.

(OXNARD, California) – The Oxnard Police Department is releasing the name of the homicide victim from this past weekend.

En octubre 8, 2017, en aproximadamente 9:46 p.m., the Oxnard Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Santa Clara Avenue. Oxnard police officers arrived at the scene and located two shooting victims inside a full-sized truck, which was stopped at the intersection.

Alexis Jean Lopez, a 26-year old Camarillo resident, was seated in the truck when she was shot and killed. A male acquaintance was also in the truck with Lopez at the time of the shooting. The acquaintance, a 27-year old Hispanic male, was shot and transported to the Ventura County Medical Center. The acquaintance is listed in serious but stable condition. His wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.

Major Crimes Detectives responded to the crime scene and are leading the investigation. A motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.

El peatón, later identified as 70-year-old Oxnard resident Frank Ybarra, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Traffic investigators from the Oxnard Police Department conducted an extensive investigation and were able to obtain a description of the vehicle involved in the collision based on witness statements and surveillance videos. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored pickup truck with tinted windows. Based on scene evidence, investigators believe that the pickup truck will have noticeable front-end damage.

Traffic investigators are requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in the collision. En octubre 8, 2017, en aproximadamente 7:45 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian which occurred in the 1400 cuadra de West Gonzales Road. EMS personnel rendered medical aid to the pedestrian; however despite lifesaving measures, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.

En octubre 9, 2017, en aproximadamente 6:20 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Gang Unit (Unidad Especial de Aplicación) were conducting uniform gang enforcement in the area of Rose Ave and Camino Del Sol. Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in that area.

As officers approached the vehicle they saw Jorge Corea hiding a loaded short barreled shotgun in his pants. Officers immediately took Corea into custody and searched the vehicle. Corea is a documented gang member and a convicted felon being prohibited from possessing firearms. Corea was arrested for various gun, drug, and gang related charges.

En octubre 6, 2017 en aproximadamente 6:30 PM, officers from the Special Enforcement Unit were conducting uniformed gang enforcement in 6200 bloque de Perkins carretera. While in the area officers made contact Tony Valdez and Ana Silva. Valdez is on active parole and had a felony warrant for robbery and stolen vehicle. Valdez and Silva are both documented gang members.

During a search of the vehicle a loaded shotgun was located next to Valdez.
