En enero 30, 2018, en aproximadamente 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of a carjacking and robbery that occurred in the 2000 bloque de Almanor calle. The victim stated that he was sleeping in his car when he was awakened by two subjects armed with rifles. The suspects robbed the victim of his belongings and fled in his vehicle. Officers from the Oxnard Police Departments Violent Crime Unit, Special Enforcement Unit and K-9 unit located the vehicle in the city of Oxnard. The vehicle was being driven by a female identified as Felicia Guillen and the suspect in the carjacking Alberto Herrera was a passenger in the vehicle. Guillen was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle and narcotics violations. Herrera was arrested for carjacking.

(OXNARD, California) – En octubre 18, 2017, en aproximadamente 11:30 p.m., Oxnard police officers were called to the scene of an armed robbery in progress. A witness reported that two armed men used a weapon to rob the victim of his black colored “beach cruiser” style bicycle. This robbery occurred near the Del Taco drive-thru, situado en 2000 Avenue North Rose, Oxnard.

The first officer to arrive at the scene detained one suspect. The second suspect fled the area. During the action, the victim in this case left the scene prior to being contacted by officers.

Officers at the scene recovered the victim’s bicycle. The detained suspect was positively identified by the witness as being a participant in the robbery. This suspect was arrested for robbery, but the charges were later dropped pending the identification of the victim.

Investigators believe that while fleeing the area, the second suspect may have been struck by a moving vehicle. The second suspect fled again after the traffic collision.

The victim is described as a Hispanic male, aproximadamente 34 años de edad, approximately 6’2” tall, and approximately 140 libras. That night the victim was wearing a blue colored sweatshirt, and a black colored baseball cap, with a red rim around the lid. It is imperative that investigators locate and interview the victim in this case.

En enero 27, 2018, en aproximadamente 4:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Santa Lucia Avenue and Alpine Street. Officers were responding to reports of a vehicle in the area driving erratically.

Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle who was identified as a seventeen year old minor and an identified Oxnard gang member. Officers noted objective symptomology consistent with alcohol use. Officers determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle whereupon he was arrested. Oxnard police officers on Saturday arrested Antonio Ramirez, 24, after he was found with a gun and drugs in the 1200 block of Azalea Street.

Alrededor 11:30 p.m. police officers were addressing the problems on Azalea Street by doing foot-patrols, which means getting out of their squad cars, taking the time to talk to residents and deter would-be criminals. Officers saw Ramirez attempting to hide and found that he had discarded a loaded .357 magnum revolver and was in possession of drugs.

Ramirez was wearing a GPS ankle monitor from a previous arrest.

Oxnard police seek two men who held up a Little Caesars Pizza at gunpoint.

The gunmen demanded cash at the eatery on Doris Avenue and Ventura Road shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects were last seen running southbound through an alley.

The one suspect was described as a 5 foot 7 thin male. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and used a white bandana to cover his face and wore gloves.

The second suspect was described as a medium build, 5 foot 5 male wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and also used a bandana to cover his face and wore gloves.

Police swarmed the area searching for the suspects. They had not been found by late Thursday night.

None of the employees were injured and police are investigating.

From October 2017 hasta enero 2018, the Oxnard Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) in conjunction with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Special Crimes Unit conducted an investigation of an Oxnard criminal street gang responsible for several shootings in Oxnard. La Unidad de Cumplimiento Especial de Oxnard (SU) and the departments K-9 Unit participated in serving four of the eleven local search warrants. The remainder of the seven search warrants were served in Los Angeles County: Los Ángeles (3), Ontario (1), Rancho Cucamonga (1), Palmdale (1), and one in Port Hueneme. These search warrants led to the seizure of 10 armas de fuego, including a Tec-9 and an assault rifle; 88 libras de marihuana; 54 gramos de cocaína; 7 gramos de metanfetamina; 245 grams of Mexican brown heroin; $62,432; one vehicle; and several arrests.

Arrestos / Charges:

Joseph Barron, Jose Tamayo, Jose Geronimo, and Jonathon Reyes (who are all convicted felons) were charged with conspiracy to commit an assault with a deadly weapon for the benefit of a criminal street gang and illegal transfer of a firearm.

Joseph Barron and Eduardo Luna (both convicted felons) were charged with conspiracy, possession for sales of a controlled substance, transportation for sales of a controlled substance, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Darius Flewellen and Eduardo Luna (both convicted felons) were charged with conspiracy to transport for sales of a controlled substance.

Bicicleta & Pedestrian Safety Operation Planned in Oxnard

Bicycle and pedestrian fatalities are rising in California as more people use these non-motorized means of transportation. En 1/22/18, en aproximadamente 0004 horas, several Oxnard Police Officers were conducting a foot patrol at the apartment complex located at 1719 S. Oxnard Blvd.. when they detained two suspicious subjects seen leaving the apartment complex. The subjects were identified as George Glass (edad 24) and Christian Andrade (edad 26).

During a search of suspect George Glass, a high capacity handgun magazine fell to the ground. As Officers continued the search, they subsequently located a handgun in Glass’ waistband. Glass is a convicted felon and was arrested for being a felon in possession of firearm with a prior conviction, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm in a public place, and possession a high capacity magazine. During a search of Andrade’s property, he was found to be in possession of ammunition and small quantity of heroin. Andrade is a convicted felon and was arrested for being a felon in possession of ammunition and possession of a controlled substance.

En enero 21, 2018, en aproximadamente 10:00AM, Los agentes del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard fueron enviados a un complejo de apartamentos ubicado en el 5200 bloque de S. “J” Street in Oxnard reference a subject sleeping in a vacant apartment while in possession of a shotgun.

Officers entered the apartment and detained the subject, 19 year old Benjamin Herrera, sin incidentes. A loaded shotgun was located adjacent to Herrera. Herrera was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest; he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Herrera was arrested on two felony charges and two misdemeanor charges including burglary, possession of a dangerous substance while in possession of a firearm, and probation violations related to possessing a firearm.
