DETALLES:

En 5/16/18, en aproximadamente 9:55 p.m., Oxnard Police Officers were dispatched to a call of a domestic violence incident which occurred in the area of Riverpark Boulevard and Vineyard Avenue. Officers made contact with the female victim and observed several injuries to her face and body. El sospechoso, Celis romana, had fled the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

Officers were able to locate an address where Celis lived and attempted to make contact with him. A la llegada, they observed Celis in a parked vehicle in the parking lot of his apartment complex. He appeared to be asleep. Officers also observed a handgun on the driver seat, next to Celis. Officers were able to safely recover the firearm without waking up Celis. After retrieving the firearm, Celis was woken up and he became resistive. Celis was eventually subdued and taken into custody without further incident. Celis was also found to be in possession of narcotics.

Celis was subsequently charged with numerous violations, incluso, felony domestic violence, being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, numerous drug charges and resisting arrest.

En mayo 15, 2018, en aproximadamente 8:20 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Oxnard Boulevard and Orchard Place for a traffic violation.

(Oxnard, California) - The Oxnard Police Department has arrested a suspect in the murder of 22-year old Jose Luis Lopez, un residente de la Ciudad de Port Hueneme.

En abril 22, 2018, en aproximadamente 8:00 p.m., Agentes de la policía de Oxnard respondieron a una víctima de un tiroteo en el 2900 block of Ocean Drive. When the police officers arrived at the scene, they located 22-year old Jose Lopez suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and attempted to render aid. Desafortunadamente, Lopez was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene to lead the investigation. Since the murder of Jose Lopez, Major Crimes Detective diligently and thoroughly investigated the case. Durante la investigación, detectives determined that Lopez’ murder was gang-motivated.

En mayo 9, 2018, in the early morning hours, police officers and detectives from the Oxnard Police Department and the Ventura Police Department served several search warrants in the City of Oxnard. The search warrant operation was directly related to the homicide investigation. Detectives seized additional evidence and gathered more information during the search warrant operation.

Based on the information and evidence gathered during the investigation thus far, Major Crimes Detectives were able to identify 20-year old Jorge Francisco Ortega, un residente de Oxnard, as a suspect in the case. En mayo 11, 2018, en aproximadamente 3:50 p.m., Major Crimes Detectives arrested Ortega and charged him with murder. At the time of his arrest, Ortega was in custody at Ventura County Jail on charges unrelated to the homicide investigation. Ortega will remain in custody with no bail.

Major Crimes Detectives will continue to investigate the murder of Jose Lopez. Detectives anticipate additional arrests as the investigation moves forward.

En 5/8/18, en aproximadamente 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to an assault victim in the 400 bloque de W. Pleasant Valley Rd.. En mayo 7, 2018, en aproximadamente 3:26 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Gonzales Road and Ventura Road.

En mayo 4, 2018, en aproximadamente 9:00 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit contacted a known gang member riding a bicycle in the area of Del Sol Park located at 1500 Camino Del Sol. The subject was identified as Jose Rocha, a convicted felon and a person prohibited from possessing a firearm. Rocha was found to be in possession of a loaded .40 pistola calibre. He was arrested for several violations that include possessing a firearm while being a convicted felon or addict, possessing a firearm with a prior violent offence and illegally being in possession of ammunition.

En 5/4/18 en 12:36 PM Oxnard police officers were conducting a patrol of the 2900 block of Ocean Drive, the area of a recent homicide. Officers observed a parked vehicle and contacted the three occupants, one of which was on probation with search terms. Officers searched the vehicle and located a loaded semi-auto handgun near the driver’s seat. El controlador, Pedro Ramirez, was arrested for possession of the handgun. The two other occupants were arrested for providing false information to a peace officer.

En abril 28, 2018, en aproximadamente 3:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit and K-9 Unit contacted a group of subjects in the 500 block of L Court drinking alcohol in public and disturbing the peace. En abril 26, 2018, en aproximadamente 9:25 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 1600 block of Billings Street. The subject was identified as Jose Sanchez. Durante la parada de tráfico, Sanchez was discovered to have an arrest warrant out of Los Angeles County. As Officers tried to remove Sanchez from his vehicle, Sanchez drove away. The two officers were hurt when the vehicle dragged the officers who tried to stop Sanchez from fleeing. One officer suffered an injury to his leg when the vehicle ran over his leg. Another officer suffered minor injuries from falling from the vehicle. Sanchez was located a short time later and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting the duties of a police officer. Both officers were treated at a local hospital and released.
