En 4/5/18, en aproximadamente 1:55 a.m., an Oxnard Police Department Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Kia Sedona, en el área de la 1300 block of Birch Street. The vehicle did not initially stop and continued driving a short distance. The officer observed the passenger toss items from the vehicle. The vehicle stopped shortly afterward. It was discovered that the passenger, Cody Henry, had a felony warrant for his arrest.
During a search of the area where officers observed the items being tossed from the vehicle, two handguns were located. Henry was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant, several gun offenses, including a felon in possession of a firearm. Officers also found an additional passenger in the vehicle, Desiree Amador, to have an outstanding felony warrant. She was also taken into custody.
