En agosto 20, 2020, la Unidad de Control de Drogas de Oxnard and the Ventura Police Department Street Crimes Unit served a search warrant in the 1000 block of King Street in reference to Juan Arceo being involved in drug sales. Arceo was contacted and taken into custody for maintaining a drug house, un delito grave. En agosto 21, 2020 Arceo bailed out of jail.
En agosto 28, 2020, DEU detectives responded to a fatal overdose in the same area where Arceo lived. Durante la investigación, detectives learned that Arceo had been released from jail and was continuing his drug activity in the neighborhood.
En septiembre 2, 2020, en aproximadamente 9:23 a.m., la Unidad de Control de Drogas de Oxnard (EL DIO) served an arrest warrant in the 1100 block of King Street for, Juan Arceo, in reference to an active narcotics warrant. During the warrant service, Arceo was contacted in front of the residence and taken into custody. Detectives observed Miguel Cardenas, 43 residente de Oxnard años de edad, flee into the residence. Cardenas had an active felony warrant for robbery. Detectives located Cardenas hiding in the residence and he surrendered peacefully when contacted.
After both subjects were taken into custody, Detectives conducted a probation search of Arceo’s residence per his search terms. During a search of his bedroom, detectives located a large quantity of Methamphetamine, fentanilo, and Cocaine consistent with street level drug sales. The amount of Fentanyl located in Arceo’s possession could have caused over 9,000 fatal overdoses. Arceo was charged with two separate counts of possession for sales for the different drugs, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, and maintaining a drug house, todos los delitos graves. Arceo was booked into jail with a bail request of $500,000.
