From October 2017 hasta enero 2018, the Oxnard Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) in conjunction with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Special Crimes Unit conducted an investigation of an Oxnard criminal street gang responsible for several shootings in Oxnard. La Unidad de Cumplimiento Especial de Oxnard (SU) and the departments K-9 Unit participated in serving four of the eleven local search warrants. The remainder of the seven search warrants were served in Los Angeles County: Los Ángeles (3), Ontario (1), Rancho Cucamonga (1), Palmdale (1), and one in Port Hueneme. These search warrants led to the seizure of 10 armas de fuego, including a Tec-9 and an assault rifle; 88 libras de marihuana; 54 gramos de cocaína; 7 gramos de metanfetamina; 245 grams of Mexican brown heroin; $62,432; one vehicle; and several arrests.
Arrestos / Charges:
Joseph Barron, Jose Tamayo, Jose Geronimo, and Jonathon Reyes (who are all convicted felons) were charged with conspiracy to commit an assault with a deadly weapon for the benefit of a criminal street gang and illegal transfer of a firearm.
Joseph Barron and Eduardo Luna (both convicted felons) were charged with conspiracy, possession for sales of a controlled substance, transportation for sales of a controlled substance, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Darius Flewellen and Eduardo Luna (both convicted felons) were charged with conspiracy to transport for sales of a controlled substance.
