DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY THE OXNARD POLICE DEPARTMENT RECEIVED NUMEROUS REPORTS OF BURGLARIES OR ATTEMPTED BURGLARIES TO RESIDENCES IN THE CITY.
THE CRIMES WERE ALL REPORTED TO HAVE OCCURRED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE RESIDENTS WERE HOME SLEEPING. THE SUSPECT WAS ABLE TO GAIN ENTRY VIA UNLOCKED DOORS AND WINDOWS. THE SUSPECT HAS REMOVED WINDOW SCREENS TO GAIN ACCESS TO UNLOCKED WINDOWS.
ON MARCH 7, 2010 AN ADDITIONAL BURGLARY, SIMILAR IN NATURE OCCURRED TO A RESIDENCE LOCATED ON THE 1400 BLOCK OF KINGSWOOD WAY. MISCELLANEOUS PROPERTY AND A VEHICLE WAS TAKEN DURING THIS MOST RECENT INCIDENT.
RESIDENTS ARE REMINDED TO SECURE ALL DOORS, WINDOWS AND TO IMMEDIATELY REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
