DETAILS:
On 9/19/11 at approximately 2100 hours, Oxnard Police officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Mono Street in regards to a reported fight. When officers arrived they attempted to contact the driver of a vehicle that was allegedly involved. The driver of the vehicle accelerated towards the officer, forcing the officer to jump back to avoid being hit. When the driver of the vehicle failed to stop for the officers, a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit lasted approximately 15 minutes and the speed ranged from 10-15 mph. The pursuit was contained to a five to six block area in the Rio Linda neighborhood. The driver stopped his vehicle prior to running over spike strips that officers had set up. The driver was taken into custody without incident. He was identified as Brian Brackrog, a 33 year old Oxnard resident. Brackrog is on parole and had an outstanding warrant. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail and charged with the outstanding warrant, a parole violation, and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
