(Oxnard, CA) On June 24, 2012 at about 10:15 p.m., Oxnard PD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Devonshire regarding a stabbing. When officers arrived they contacted a victim who had sustained stab wounds to his chest. The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Officers were able to locate the suspect, 27-year-old Jesus Morones (10/13/84) walking in the immediate area. Morones had sustained an injury to his head and was also transported to Ventura County Medical Center for his injuries.
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that both Morones and the victim knew each other and had a dispute over a woman. During the dispute Morones stabbed the victim. The victim armed himself with a metal object and hit Morones in head. After Morones was medically cleared, he was transported to Ventura County jail and charged with attempted murder.
